Technical Training on Spectral/hp element method using Nektar++ Demonstrators: Chris Cantwell, Mike Kirby Dave Moxey, Yu Pan, Joaquim Peiro, Spencer Sherwin, Hui Xu, Zhenguo Yan

Synopsis:

The workshop is designed to introduce you to some basic building blocks and the potential applications of spectral/hp element methods as provided through the open source software Nektar++ (www.nektar.info). The workshop is structured as a series of on-line tutorials that you can go through at your own pace and will be supported by the demonstrators from the Nektar++ team.

Requirement:

We hope that you have access to a mac or linux machine or within windows have familiarity with a Linux emulator or application such as WSL on windows 10. As a first part of the workshop we will provide you with a session to outline how to install and build Nektar++ 5.0 however since there are many different operating systems, we recommend you try a basic installation of Nektar++ as described under www.nektar.info/getting-started. If we are unable to get Nektar++ immediately working on your local environment we will also provide a remote environment where it is already configured.

Programme:

Below is our recommendation of how you can use the workshop. The format however is flexible and expert users will be available to support you throughout the day. If you are already familiar with the Nektar++ framework it will also be possible to interact on individual problems with the Nektar++ team.
