For business: · Clean out your inbox and e-mail. If you are like me, you’ve kept way to many unnecessary e-mails and it’s bogging you down.

· Catch up on filing the paperwork or your computer files.

· Research. Now’s a great time to get to find future customers, educational materials, ideas.

· Don’t forget to keep on marketing. After major economic disruptions, businesses that get back to a more normal style are those that keep their name/face in the public eye.

For home: · Great time to clean those windows. The sun will be out, so it’s better not to see it through the dirt and spots.

· Rotate the stock in the pantry. Make sure you don’t have something hiding in the back of the cabinet that could be good for dinner.

· Defrost the freezer. If it isn’t a frost-free one, it may be time to give it a good cleaning. You may find that mystery meat you put in there too long ago.

· Weed the garden. Those pretty flowers will be here in no time.

· Clean out your closet. Remove those clothes you can’t wear because they are too big (or the opposite for me). They could find a new home – like Pink Hands of Hope. Just don’t rearrange your sock drawer. You may need that excuse to get out of a bad date.

· Now’s a perfect time to clean up the garage/attic/basement. When it’s time to have that junk hauled away, Dolly at Bin There Dump That (717-766-7857), Don at Junk King (717-686-0932), and Walters Services – ask for Andrew – (800-690-5756) would love to give you a hand.

· Don’t forget that little computer that is in your pocket, purse, or on your hip. It actually makes telephone calls. Skip the e-mail or text and call a parent, grandparent, child, sibling, in-law (out-law), high school friend, military buddy or someone you haven’t checked on recently. Even though we may be more isolated than normal, we still have the need for human contact.

· Most important! Turn off the TV, Facebook, COVID-19/Coronovirus update for a while. Quit pouring gasoline on a fire and give your brain a break from it. We do not need to be Pollyanna, but Chicken Little wasn’t any better.

This situation is a BIG unknown for all of us. I have great faith in the American way of doing things – when there is a situation, even though there is always push back, we fight through quicker and stronger and with more determination to overcome a common enemy better than anywhere else in the world. If there is a way to mitigate this and come up with a solution in short order, the United States will do it.

Stay calm, stay safe. Jeff Palm, Executive Director Restaurants Offering Takeout / Delivery

Ahold Delhaize USA, the largest grocery group on the East Coast and fourth largest in the nation, with local brands including Stop & Shop, , , and Hannaford, today announces a substantial $10 million relief package to address critical needs in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Serving our brands’ associates and communities is one of our greatest calls to action at USA, and we take to heart our responsibility during this time of need,” said Kevin Holt, Chief Executive Officer of Ahold Delhaize USA. “We’re inspired by the selfless dedication of medical professionals and first responders, the acts of kindness and compassion across the globe, and the commitment from our own team to serve and feed their families, friends and neighbors.”

The funding will be earmarked as follows: • $2 million for associate care funds – Lion’s Pride, Helping Hands and Take Care. These funds are for employees and their families in times of need. • $3.5 million in new funding to feed and care for communities on the East Coast through local brand efforts with Stop & Shop and Food Lion giving an additional $1 million each and $500,000 each by Giant Food, The GIANT Company and Hannaford. • $3 million already infused through local brands, giving local funding and in-kind product donations with efforts such as: • Stop & Shop - $1 million divided among 13 regional food bank partners in addition to other local food donations. • Food Lion - $600,000, including $500,000 for the donation of 5 million meals to community food bank partners to feed students, seniors and other neighbors in need, and a $100,000 donation to Feeding America and other local food donations. • Giant Food - $550,000 to Feeding America regional food banks, along with donations of food products and customer giveback opportunities to area food banks. • The GIANT Company - $500,000 to support local hunger relief organizations, including Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, Philabundance, Food Bank and Meals on Wheels Pennsylvania, and COVID-19 test ing and mitigation efforts at five area children’s hospitals: Children’s Hospital of , Penn State Children’s Hospital, Geisinger Janet Weis Children's Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. • Hannaford - $250,000 to regional food banks to support efforts in critically impacted areas in five states, and a cash register community donation drive. • $1.5 million to provide pivotal funding to support medical research to create a vaccine and cure for COVID-19. Ahold Delhaize USA companies are providing further economic and financial support in the form of more than 20,000 employment opportunities. In addition, the brands have implemented stronger social distancing efforts including associate and customer education, store signage and plexi-shield protective barriers, among other initiatives. Also, Ahold Delhaize USA brands were among the first to offer dedicated shopping hours to seniors and others who are vulnerable, as well as offering enhanced benefits for associates.

Holt added, “Through our local brand efforts, we play a critical role in the food supply chain and are operating in regions greatly impacted by this crisis. Our COVID-19 relief package ensures we’re financially committing to critical needs, along with implementing continued social distancing measures and creating new employment opportunities when it is needed most.” Mechanicsburg Print & Media Company Helps Restaurant Industry Adapt in a World of Take Out & Delivery Business Only

Hot Frog Print & Media pivots its digital messaging platform to help restaurants announce take out specials and delivery services to new customers.

Hot Frog Print Media announced today that it has repurposed their digital messaging platform to help local res- taurants advertise their new reality to customers in their individual markets. They call it the Community Restaurant Support Platform.

Jim Geedy, President of Hot Frog, further described the genesis of the idea and how it became reality. “The Hot Frog team was concerned, as are we all, with the situation that our local economy finds itself in due to the Covid-19 Virus. It was more of a brainstorming session to see if there were ways we could use some of our services and in- house technology to help.”

Michael Drei, Director of Digital Marketing Automation, continued, “It’s the local restaurants that have had their busi- ness model flipped upside down. Many were set up to offer dining room service as their primary means of revenue with takeout and delivery as typically a much smaller part of their revenue pie.”

MDrei continued, “Literally overnight, takeout and delivery has become their only way to stay in business until this situation passes. While many are using their Facebook pages or websites to announce their new reality, most don’t have the viewership to make a meaningful impact-especially if they are trying to reach an audience that may not have considered them for takeout or delivery before.”

Isaac Paterson, Hot Frog’s Business Strategist commented, “most individuals now working from home don’t know which restaurants are offering what services or food options and that is where we felt we could help. We have a very sophisticated platform that can communicate through text messages to thousands of people within a short distance of the restaurants that choose to use it.”

Isaac continued, “In addition, we decided to invest our own resources into this project to ensure the tool is afford- able. Things like list generation, internal IT and admin expenses will be covered by us to minimize the cost and maximize the benefits to the sector.” Isaac concluded, “We are all in this together and whatever we can do to help commerce win over the Covid-19 virus will position us all better when this calamity is behind us.”

Initial reaction has been significant and positive with the first territory selling out within two days.
