The Henegar Center for the Arts in downtown Melbourne, a centerpiece of the cultural arts community for many years, has hired veteran radio–industry manager and executive Luis Diaz–Albertini as the nonprofit organization’s new managing director. Over a career that has spanned more than 35 years, Diaz–Albertini has managed some of the largest radio stations in Florida, including stations in the Tampa and Miami markets, where he spent most of his career. He once served as the chief revenue officer for Stardome Radio Networks, a diversified media and entertainment company focusing on the U.S. Hispanic and Latin Ameri- can marketplace. “The Henegar Center is going in a very progressive direction that’s going to be exciting for the community,” said businessman Steve Spragins, an executive board member of The Henegar Center and a partner in Alliance Title in Melbourne. “We’re looking to raise awareness of The Henegar Center and Luis is the right individual to help us do that. He’ll lead The Henegar Center into the future. We are excited to have someone of his experience as our managing director.” Spragins said he first met Diaz–Albertini in 1985 in Tampa. Diaz–Albertini was the general manager of a large radio station there. “Luis knew a lot of people in that area, especially those in the business community, but also across all fields including sports and entertainment. And he introduced me to many of them. We stayed in touch over the years. He told me he always liked the Melbourne area.” Diaz–Albertini says no matter what the delivery platform is, content is always king. “At the end of the day, just like in radio, it comes down to content.
