Complete description of requested action: (Include, if applicable, background, impact, long-term commitment, existing county policy, future goals, obtained by competitive bid, accountability measures) This document was first prepared and approved by the board in 2002. Once this document is approved it will be submitted to the Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration for their review and approval. This was a total document rewrite. This document is a bi-county document serving both Esmeralda and Nye Counties that identifies a vision, goals and needs for all the communities within the two counties. Any information provided after the agenda is published or during the meeting of the Commissioners will require you to provide 20 copies: one for each Commissioner, one for the Clerk, one for the District Attorney, one for the Public and two for the County Manager. Contracts or documents requiring signature must be submitted with three original copies. Dale Approved Disapproved I Amended as follows: I Clerk of the Board Date COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY (CEDS) ESMERALDA 1 NYE COUNTIES NEVADA COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY (CEDS) FOR FOR ESMERALDAJNYE COUNTIES NEVADA A regional Economic Development Strategy prepared by: The Economic Development Authority of EsmeraldaINye Counties (EDEN) August 2006 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY AS THE ESMERALDA COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY 2006 WHEREAS, an annual Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Plan (CEDS) is useful tool to plot Esmeralda County's progress in meeting objectives and setting priorities for economic development activities to stimulate new private and public investments to provide employment and growth opportunities; and WHEREAS, the Esmeralda County Commission - appointed Esmeralda County participants to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Program Committee has developed and adopted a Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy that includes Esmeralda County; and WHEREAS, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Committee has recommended adoption of the CEDS by the Board of County Commissioners of Esmeralda County; now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Esmeralda County Commissioners accepts and adopts the proposed CEDS Plan and authorizes it submittal to the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration. The foregoing resolution was duly passed and adopted by the Board of the Esmeralda County commissioners, State of Nevada, at regular meeting of the Board, held on the -day of 2006.
