23.0 Scenario 7: Campaign In the first phase the French must complete the encirclement of FML Mack’s force in Ulm. In the second they must pursue the Coalition Armies to the decisive battle at Austerlitz. Points from the first phase are not carried forward into the second. There is the question that if the French had won big at Amstetten or Schöngrabern they could have caught Kutusov’s Russo-Austrian Army before he met Buxhowden, and forced an earlier decisive engagement, but this would rely on either Soult’s IV or Ney’s VI Corps catching up with the Avant Garde. Davout only made Austerlitz after marching 100 miles in 2 days.
