On the Baylor Horizon...A Publication Of On the Baylor Horizon.....a publication of the Division of Student Life Special 100th Anniversary Homecoming Edition HOMECOMING ACTIVITIES Bear Pantry: The Homecoming Food Drive Monday, October 19, to Saturday, October 24. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected all week, including at Extravaganza and the Parade to benefit Caritas in Waco. The donations can be dropped off at any residence hall, the McLane Student Life Center, the SUB, Bobo Spiritual Life Center, Baylor Law School, Pat Neff, Robinson Tower, and the collection trailer on 5th Street and Speight. Take this chance to give something back to our Waco community. Freshman Mass Meeting and Build the Bonfire Thursday, October 22, 11 p.m. in Waco Hall. The entire freshman class will come together to hear the story of the Immortal Ten. Immediately following Freshman Mass Meeting, the freshman class will build the Homecoming Bonfire on Fountain Mall. This is a freshman tradition, and one not to miss! This year looks to be the biggest bonfire in recent years; so all freshmen are encouraged to come out and enjoy free food, music, and fellowship as they build the Bonfire. Pigskin Revue Thursday, October 22, 7 p.m.; Friday, October 23, 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.; and Saturday, October 24, 7 p.m. at Waco Hall. A limited number of tickets are still available for the Thursday night performance. Come by the Ticket Office of the SUB for more information about this Broadway-style performance featuring the top eight acts from last spring’s Sing. For additional information, visit www.baylor.edu/student_activities. Extravaganza Friday, October 23, 6 p.m. at Fountain Mall. The mall will be transformed into a true "Extravaganza!" Starting at 6 p.m., a carnival atmosphere will take over, complete with inflatable games, amusement rides, alumni reunion tents, food, and a firework show brought to you by the Baylor Bookstore. All activities are free at this come-and-go event. For additional information, visit www.baylor.edu/homecoming. Pep Rally & Bonfire & Concert Friday, October 23, 9 p.m. at Fountain Mall. Come support the Baylor Bear football team as they get pumped up for their game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Coach Art Briles will be there with the team while the Baylor University Golden Wave Band and Baylor Spirit Squads perform. Immediately following the Pep Rally and firework show, the Homecoming Bonfire will be lit. The cover band, The Pictures, will play on Fountain Mall shortly after the bonfire at 10 p.m. Homecoming Parade Saturday, October 24. Watch the largest collegiate Homecoming parade in the nation, as it marches through downtown Waco towards Baylor campus beginning at 8 a.m. The procession will reach the Baylor campus at 5th Street, around 8:30 a.m. For additional information, visit www.baylor.edu/homecoming. Baylor Football vs. Oklahoma State Saturday, October 24, 11:30 a.m. at Floyd Casey Stadium. The Bears return home to Floyd Casey to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Touchdown Alley will open at 9 a.m. and will feature live music, games, autographs, and the pre-game radio show. Students may catch the shuttle from the SUB beginning two hours prior to game time.
