Introduction Reliable event timing In 2009 MYLAPS introduced the BibTag system at the Melbourne Marathon. After a very extensive period of testing a revolutionary timing tag installed on the athlete’s bib was a fact. We are constantly testing and analyzing on the reliability and accuracy of our systems. On top of that, all systems are equipped with a GPRS modem in order to provide a central overview of all timelines and to facilitate live timing services. Worldwide almost all major marathons trust on the MYLAPS quality and therefore MYLAPS is the partner of choice of for the following major city marathons: Boston, Chicago, Hong Kong (73.000 participants!), Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Sydney, Dubai, Beirut, Rotterdam and Madrid. Ease of handling and logistics MYLAPS equipment is designed to be operated intuitively and can be installed and transported easily. All timelines can be managed from a central point using the mobile network. Bib printing and mounting of BibTag to bib services are available in cooperation with partners. High quality service and support: MYLAPS offers 24/7 support which means that in case of urgent support you are always able to speak to one of our technical support engineers. High quality products and support belong to the core values of MYLAPS. When needed, engineers from MYLAPS or trusted partners can provide system training and event support. Events choose MYLAPS BibTag for the following reasons: Proven quality High reliability of the results. Easy handling 24/7 support Contents 3 This document is confidential and cannot be shared with other organizations and other persons without written permission of MYLAPS. Timing solution Efficiency and reliability are two important factors for a race organizer. In the last five years the MYLAPS BibTag system proved to deliver these two factors for every event where it has been used. The BibTag system is the timing-system with the timing Tag on the Bib. The BibTag is a lightweight UHF-Tag which is optimized for the running sports. A spacer is placed on the Tag for optimal detection and to make sure that the quality of the signal is clear in all conditions. Runners only need to attach the bib number to their shirts like they are already used to. BibTags are disposable and do not need to be collected after the race. In other words: minimal pre-race handling, no post-race handling and ease of use for participants. The last two years MYLAPS developed new solutions in order to make the BibTag system suitable for all mass participation active sport events. From Tag to Time, all has been optimized for the athlete and the organization. For all types of active sport events (running, cycling, triathlons, mud runs, obstacle runs) the MYLAPS BibTag system is the ultimate solution. 1. Timing of running events with a BibTag attached to the bib 2. Timing of cycling events with a BibTag attached to a number plate on the handlebars 3. Timing of triathlons, mud runs, obstacle runs with the MYLAPS Multisports Tag Running Cycling Triathlon Contents 4 This document is confidential and cannot be shared with other organizations and other persons without written permission of MYLAPS. By investing in the BibTag system no other timing systems are required to time cycling or triathlon events. These types of events can be timed with exactly the same system with the same guaranteed reliable results. Included with the system is a free of charge software package in order to time the events. With the MYLAPS Timing & Scoring Software running on your laptop, you can operate all systems and process race results in a few mouse clicks or export results to 3rd party scoring software. Via the GPRS modem in the BibTag portable decoders you have remote access to all decoders used during your events so timing can easily be done from one location. System updates For the BibTag system MYLAPS offers free of charge half yearly firmware updates and software updates for the MYLAPS Timing & Scoring software. Support As a MYLAPS partner you always have access to free remote 24/7 support. Our dedicated support team is ready if needed via our emergency support line. Furthermore you have the opportunity to participate in webinars and the MYLAPS customer conference where we train and inform our partners on our current products and new developments. Optional services Additional (optional) value added services are mentioned in Appendix 4. The MYLAPS Event App is our latest service for our customers. This app is the most complete all-in- one app in the sports events industry. 5 This document is confidential and cannot be shared with other organizations and other persons without written permission of MYLAPS. Our proposal Efficiency and reliability are 2 important factors. The MYLAPS BibTag system is offering the best efficiency and reliability for automatic timekeeping and is very easy to operate. The BibTag system is the timing-system with the Tag on the Bib. The Tag is a lightweight Tag which is optimized for the running sports. MYLAPS placed a spacer on the Tag for optimal detection and to make sure that the quality of the signal is clear in all conditions. Our proposal Our 6 This document is confidential and cannot be shared with other organizations and other persons without written permission of MYLAPS. Financials The MYLAPS BibTag system is available in two versions: a 4 meter system and an 8 meter system. Based on the requirements as discussed the 4 meter system would be suitable for a start/ finish location. For future expansion an 8 meter setup might be of interest. Global Media Journal – Malaysian Edition Volume 6, Issue 2, 2016 ISSN : 2231-9948 THE NUPTIALS OF SOCIAL AND TRADITIONAL MEDIA – WHY THIS SOPHISTICATED MIXED MARRIAGE IS WORTH MONITORING IN THE LONG-TERM Elliza Abdul Rahim Essence Communications Pusat Dagangan, Phileo Damansara 1, Selangor, Malaysia. [email protected] ABSTRACT For companies in Malaysia who want to stay ahead, monitoring their traditional media is no longer an only option. It is imperative that attention is paid to the implications of the heavy activity on the Internet via portals and social networking sites. Neglect would lead to a handicap of a swift response in real time which is a necessity in this age of nanotechnology. Integrating traditional and social media monitoring elevates management of information to a level that allows organizations to document, analyze and place a numeric value to their public relation efforts. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to highlight the activities reflecting the media monitoring based on a few samples of case studies and at the end emphasizes on the worth of mixed marriage of traditional and social media. Keywords: Mixed marriage; traditional; social media; monitoring and social sites. INTRODUCTION This country has been advocating mixed marriages since Adam. We marry the Malay and English language to make Manglish – much to the dismay of the English Language purist. We marry a plethora of food, customs and traditions to create the unique Malaysians we are today. It should not come as a surprise that there is an important 1 Global Media Journal – Malaysian Edition Volume 6, Issue 2, 2016 ISSN : 2231-9948 public relations marriage quietly being negotiated in the media arena that we need to be aware of.

  • Expedite Release of 2015 Marathon Results, Standard Chartered Urges AK
For immediate Release Expedite release of 2015 marathon results, Standard Chartered urges AK Nairobi Monday 18th April 2016...Standard Chartered today expressed concern over Athletics Kenya’s delay in releasing the official results of the 2015 Nairobi Marathon. At a press conference held today, Lamin Manjang Chief Executive Standard Chartered said the delay was causing a lot of anxiety among the prize winners and the athletics fraternity in general. Mr Manjang said AK had informed the Bank that the athletics body was yet to receive the full laboratory results from South Africa. “It is unfortunate that whereas the process has been seamless in the past, there has been an inordinate delay in the release of the 2015 results. We have been in constant communication with AK expressing our concern over the said delay. By last week, AK promised us that a lot of progress has been made with partial results having been received from the laboratory in South Africa,” said Mr. Manjang. Due to the delay, the Bank has not paid prize winners in the 21Km and 42Km categories. Mr Manjang said in line with IAAF regulations, the prize money will only be paid out after doping results are released by AK. He said: We would like to assure the affected athletes that upon receipt of the official results, we shall release the money to them directly. Standard Chartered is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct and we shall uphold the same in our engagement with all stakeholders. We are optimistic that AK will expedite the release of the doping results before the planned May launch of the 2016 Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon.” The Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon is the only road-race recognized by IAAF in this region.
