Demiraj meets political subjects in Berat and Elbasan, for the peaceful running of the process

BERAT – Minister of Internal Affairs Dritan Demiraj held a meeting in the morning with electoral subjects of Socialist Party (PS), Social Movement for Integration (LSI) and Democratic Party (PD) in Berat County.

Mr. Demiraj met the political parties’ coordinators, Mr. Blendi Klosi, Mr. Nasip Naço and Mr. Eduart Halimi, to hear allegations about the electoral process. He also instructed the Director of the Local Police Department of Berat to take measures to prevent cases of vote-buying, of police officers’ political involvement in the process, while demanded parties to ease tensions.

Minister Demiraj's meetings were held in the framework of the intensive meetings he has organized in Albania's counties, aimed at developing a peaceful electoral process.

ELBASAN – Minister of Internal Affairs Dritan Demiraj held a meeting in the evening with electoral subjects of Socialist Party (PS), Democratic Party (PD) and Social Movement for Integration (LSI) in Elbasan County.

Mr. Demiraj met the coordinators of political subjects, Mr. Edmond Spaho, Mr. Taulant Balla and Mrs. Monika Kryemadhi to hear the allegations about the electoral process, and demanded the minimization of political tensions.

Minister Demiraj instructed the Director of the Local Police Department of Elbasan to take measures to prevent cases of vote-buying, of control by criminal groups that could affect the electoral process, and to implement the action plan for an unexpected crisis management.

Reinforced police force and Rapid Intervention Forces (FNSH) are deployed on the ground.
