The Ordinariate was established by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012 to preserve elements of the Anglican tradition within the in North America. is celebrated according to Divine Worship, also known as the Ordinariate or liturgy.

 ARCHITECT’S PRESENTATION TODAY Following the 10:30 am Mass, Paul Kelly, the architect with whom Saint Barnabas has been working, will give a short presentation on the proposed elevator addition and parking lot improvement. It will include the opportunity ask questions about the project, which is expected to go out for bids next week.

 ORGAN RECITAL, , & RECEPTION THIS AFTERNOON Our organist-choirmaster Thomas Andrews will offer a reprise of his doctoral recital today at 4:30 pm. Evensong will be sung as usual at 5:30 pm, after which there will be a reception in the undercroft in honour of Dr. Andrews completing the Doctor of Musical Arts program at the University of Kansas.

 YOUNG CATHOLIC PROFESSIONALS The Young Catholic Professionals (ages 21-40) meet Tuesday, May 15 at the UNO Newman Center. Ashley Stevens will be speaking on "Standing with the Suffering".  CHORAL EVENSONG MAY 20 On Whitsunday (the Day of Pentecost), May 20 at 5:30 pm, we will have our final service of Choral Evensong and Benediction until the fall. A festive reception will follow in the undercroft.

OF THE BELL MAY 27 On May 27, in place of Evensong at 5:30 pm, The Most Rev’d Elden F. Curtiss, Archbishop Emeritus of Omaha, will preside over the consecration of our newly-refurbished church bell. This is an ancient rite, traditionally reserved to a bishop. In the weeks that follow, the bell will be installed in its new cupola, upon which will be placed the new steeple.

 “CASTLEPALOOZA” AT JOSLYN CASTLE JUNE 2 Joslyn Castle is sponsoring a free neighborhood on Saturday, June 2, from 4 to 8 PM. The fun will feature local music, craft beer, vendors, food trucks, and a little “family-friendly activities area” for children with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, games, face painting, and more. The Castle staff is looking for 4 to 6 volunteers from St. Barnabas for the children’s activities. Volunteers can work 2-hour shifts (4 to 6 or 6 to 8).  CORPUS CHRIST JUNE 3 On Sunday, June 3, we observe the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. There will be an indoor procession and Benediction of the immediately after the 10:30 am Mass. That afternoon, parishioners are encouraged to participate in the city-wide outdoor procession from Our Lady of Lourdes Parish to St Peter’s Parish. The Procession begins at 2:30 pm and concludes at 5 pm. Transportation between the two churches will be available.

 PATRONAL FEAST AND PASTOR’S INSTALLATION JUNE 10 The Ordinariate’s Governing Council has unanimously decided to erect Saint Barnabas as a canonical parish. Bishop Lopes will be with us on Sunday, June 10, when we will observe our patronal feast. He will officially publish the decree, and install Father Catania as the first pastor of Saint Barnabas Catholic Parish. A special reception will follow. Evensong will be sung as usual at 5:30 pm, followed by a buffet supper. Additional information on the day’s events will be forthcoming.
