Ronin-S Camera Compatibility List Ronin-S Camera Compatibility List 2020.06.10 (for gimbal firmware v 2.3.1.20) The camera and lens combinations listed below can be physically balanced and stabilized on the Ronin-S. The Control Feature column indicates camera features that can be accessed by the gimbal and app. Cameras and lenses similar in size and weight may be compatible, but will not be listed until official verification by DJI. This list will be updated as more camera and lens setups are tested and verified. An image from the 3M pixel challenge – the Kodak DC4800 camera 1 The Kodak DC4800 3.1 Megapixel camera. Fortunately during the recording of this series the weather remained consistent and so I was able to capture the same shots for each camera in almost identical lighting. The only thing that changed was the emergence of leaves on the trees and new flowers in the grounds of Smithills hall. For the last of the camera challenges I repeated the shots using an iPhone 12 Pro Max just to demonstrate the image quality that can now be achieved using modern camera designs. Smithills hall with the iPhone 12 Pro Max 1/1880 sec F1.6 @ ISO 32 26mm EFL The x1 camera uses a 12M sensor with optical image stabilisation and does appear to be able to capture a wide tonal range with plenty of image detail and providing that you don’t want to make prints bigger than A4 size can make reasonable prints in good lighting conditions. 2 The Canon APS-C sensor cameras model 40D and 90D cameras In part 9 I took the Canon 40D and the 90d and paired them with the 18-150mm EFS lens.     Newsletter for November 2018 Spot the difference A friend of mine has a real love of “spot the difference” pictures in a popular magazine. He believes that it is good practice for his brain! So, I decided I would build a photo book with some of my pictures that I had used the Photoshop clone tool to remove some parts of the image. It gave me some good practice at using the clone stamp tools and I hope that his Xmas present keeps him entertained for hours. 1 I had a lot of pleasure producing the series of images for the book and there was quite a bit of interest when I posted a couple of them on my Facebook page. 2 Using Legacy lenses on the Canon EOS M50 The Canon M50, despite what the “critics” say, is a great camera for shooting 4K video. With a crop factor of 2.56 when shooting 4k Video a 200mm lens would have the equivalent focal length of 512mm and even a modest 100mm lens would result in an effective focal length of 256mm. There are some technical considerations to be made when choosing a suitable lens for the M50 and I have produced a short video which outlines the pros and cons of using such lenses.
