Triple Bowls Triumph On Monday 25 March our Bowls Triple, made up of Tamati Sydney, Liam Shelley and Lyndon Leaf, went up to compete in the National Secondary Schools Champi- onships held in Auckland. They use the bowls 3five format which makes the games go a lot faster and last under an hour. Our boys all train multiple times a week and they are really strong. Day one saw the boys win all four games, day two they won their way into the semi’s and then onto the finals. Finals went into power play and our last shot by Tamati pushed us to the win. They are now National Sec- ondary Schools’ Champions! They are so dedicated with their training and really enjoy the sport. This year saw them with a new Coach, Bevan Shelley as their pre- vious coach, Don Dougherty, stepped down to Manager. These two motivate and encourage the boys to become bigger and better in all aspects. They guide them to be stronger and that they are! Now to see how the bowls team gets on at the Tamati Sydney, Liam Shelley & Lyndon Leaf Thames Valley Pairs Championship on Wednesday 3 April here in Hinuera. You will find out in next week’s newsletter!

Equestrian On Wednesday 28 March three of our Equestrian team took on the Waikato Inter-schools Showjumping in Cambridge. Nicole Weatherley and Olivia Prendergast were both competing in the Intermediate ring which was 90cm and Faith Spice was in the Junior ring competing at 80cm. Nicole came 1st overall in the Intermediate ring with a 1st in the Accumulator, a 2nd in TAM3 and a 4th in Jigsaw. Faith had clear rounds all day but narrowly missed out on Ribbons which shows the talent that was there on the day. Olivia did an incredible job on her young Pony that was at its second ever show. They did an awesome job together as a new pair. They took out the 4th in the Jigsaw with Nicole too. came second overall with their points combined as a school team! We are very happy with this result and we also had two of our team who were out for this competition. Jo Weatherley who manages this team is extremely proud of these girls and their results. It shows the dedication and passion these girls put into their sport and she couldn’t be prouder. Nicole Weatherley

Most of the college competitors all placed in the top ten and some only narrowly missed out on securing their spot.
