Soulfly, Betraying the Martyrs Y Oathbreaker Completan El Cartel Del RESURRECTION FEST 2015 Soulfly, Betraying The Martyrs y Oathbreaker completan el cartel del RESURRECTION FEST 2015 Además, se unen bandas tributo y los ganadores del RF Band Contest Estrella Galicia Nos alegra poder anunciar el cartel final del Resurrection Fest 2015, con reparto por días y escenarios de bandas incluido. Hemos de destacar las últimas bandas que cierran la programación principal: por un lado, una de las mayores leyendas de la historia del metal, Max Cavalera, vendrá con Soulfly a repartir caña con su groove metal y a recordar grandes ​ ​ clásicos gracias a un setlist especial formado por canciones de Soulfly y Sepultura para que no falten himnos como "Refuse/Resist" o "Roots Bloody Roots". Por otro lado, los belgas Oathbreaker también estarán en el festival con su peculiar blackened hardcore tras su cancelación en 2011. Finalmente debemos anunciar la cancelación unilateral de Chelsea Grin, los cuales serán sustituidos por los franceses Betraying The Martyrs, quienes vendrán ​ ​ desde París con su potente deathcore. Las nuevas incorporaciones no finalizan ahí, ya que tendremos tres bandas tributo este año cerrando la fiesta: Abaixo Cu Sistema (tributo a System of a Down), Defclones (tributo a ​ ​ ​ Deftones) y The Everlongs (tributo a Foo Fighters). ​ ​ También nos complace añadir oficialmente a los tres ganadores de nuestro Band Contest Estrella Galicia 2015 tras la batalla de bandas del pasado 16 de mayo: Brothers Till We Die, ​ ​ Borderlands y Blaze Out. ¡Enhorabuena una vez más! ​ ​ ​ Junto a la programación gratuita de la fiesta de presentación del miércoles 15 de julio (Biohazard, Pro­Pain, The Decline, Killus, Bastards On Parade y Mutant Squad), el póster final es el que podéis ver aquí mismo. ¿Os gusta? A nosotros nos encanta. :D No podemos esperar más a que comience el festival para disfrutar de estas casi 80 bandas a lo largo de 4 días de fiesta continua en un entorno inigualable. ¿Estás preparado? Comparte el cartel con tus amigos y nos vemos en Viveiro. ¡Te esperamos! :) Soulfly, Betraying The Martyrs and Oathbreaker close the RESURRECTION FEST 2015 lineup Furthermore, tribute bands and the winners of the Estrella Galicia are added too We are glad to announce the final lineup of Resurrection Fest 2015, including the bands’ distribution per day and per stage. We must highlight the last bands that complete the main billing: first of all, one of the biggest legends in metal history, Max Cavalera, will bring his ​ ​ band Soulfly to Viveiro to kick asses with their mighty groove metal and to remember big ​ classics thanks to a special set formed by Soulfly and Sepultura songs full of hymns such as “Refuse/Resist” or “Roots Bloody Roots”, among many others. Secondly, the Belgians Oathbreaker will also be in the festival with their peculiar blackened hardcore after their cancellation in 2011. Finally, we must announce the unilateral cancellation of Chelsea Grin. They will be substituted by the French band Betraying The Martyrs, who will come from ​ ​ France with their powerful deathcore. The new additions don’t stop here, since we have three tribute bands this year finishing the party: Abaixo Cu Sistema (System of a Down tribute), Defclones (Deftones tribute) and The ​ ​ ​ ​ Everlongs (Foo Fighters tribute). ​ We’re also proud to officially add the three winners of our RF Band Contest Estrella Galicia 2015 after the battle of bands from last 16th May: Brothers Till We Die, Borderlands and ​ ​ ​ ​ Blaze Out. Again, congratulations! ​ Along with the free program for the warm up party of Wednesday 15th July (Biohazard, Pro­Pain, The Decline, Killus, Bastards On Parade and Mutant Squad), the final poster is the one you can see here. Brown, Advisor Between 1984 and 1991, heavy metal became one of the most publicly popular and commercially successful rock music subgenres. The focus of this dissertation is to explore the following research questions: How did the subculture of heavy metal music between 1984 and 1991 evolve and what meanings can be derived from this ongoing process? How did the contextual circumstances surrounding heavy metal music during this period impact the performative choices exhibited by artists, and from a position of retrospection, what lasting significance does this particular era of heavy metal merit today? A textual analysis of metal- related materials fostered the development of themes relating to the selective choices made and performances enacted by metal artists. These themes were then considered in terms of gender, sexuality, race, and age constructions as well as the ongoing negotiations of the metal artist within multiple performative realms. Occurring at the juncture of art and commerce, heavy metal music is a purposeful construction. Metal musicians made performative choices for serving particular aims, be it fame, wealth, or art. These same individuals worked within a greater system of influence. Metal bands were the contracted employees of record labels whose own corporate aims needed to be recognized.

Horizonte, ubicada en el estado brasileño de Minas Gerais, fue el sitio que vio nacer, a inicios de los 80 del pasado siglo, a la banda de rock de nuestro continente que más impacto ha registrado a escala universal: el grupo Sepultura. Integrada en un primer momento por los hermanos Cavalera, Max (guitarra y voz), e Igor (batería), junto al bajista Paulo Jr., y Jairo Guedez en una segunda guitarra, la agrupación conserva total vigencia a más de 20 años de fundarse. Las principales influencias que el cuarteto reconoce en sus comienzos, provienen de gentes como Slayer, Sadus, Motörhead y Sacred Reich, quienes les ayudan a conformar un típico sonido de thrash metal. En 1985, a través del sello Cogumelo Produçoes, editan en Brasil su primer trabajo fonográfico, Bestial devastation, un disco publicado en forma de split (como se conoce a un álbum compartido con otra banda), en compañía de los también brasileños de Overdose. El éxito del material sorprende a muchos y así, Cogumelo Produçoes se asocia a Road Runner Records, para sacar al mercado, en 1986, el primer LP íntegro con música de Sepultura, Morbid visions, valorado al paso del tiempo como un clásico del universo metalero, gracias a cortes como War, Crucifixion y, en especial, Troops of doom, tema que pasó a ser una suerte de himno para la banda.
