CUTTING REQUIREMENTS QUILT ASSEMBLY Please read instructions first before cutting. Cut C638 Blue/Green Tartan, C635 Blue Buffalo Check, into 2½" segments to create Unit C. C638 Black/Gray Tartan, C637 Black Houndstooth, C639 Red Tweed Sew the 2½" Black/Gray Tartan, Black Houndstooth, and Red Tweed strips together. Cut into 2½" segments and add Tan Herringbone Cut 32 squares 2½" x 2½" from Tan Herringbone (C636 Tan). setting triangles to each end to Create Unit D. Cut each square once diagonally to make 64 corner triangles.

Sew a Tan Herringbone setting triangle to both sides of the 2½" Quilt Center Assembly Green Herringbone squares to create Unit E. See photo for row placement. Lay out rows A and B. Sew rows together to complete the center of the quilt. Sew the units together and then add the Tan Herringbone corner triangles to create the Trail Block. Square up block to 9" if necessary. Borders Repeat to make 16 Trail Blocks. Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew side borders first.

Unit C Border 1

Unit A Unit D Side borders should be 39". Top and bottom borders should be 42½". Unit B Unit E Border 2

Trail Block Referring to quilt photo for fabric placement, sew 2½" squares together end to end. Side borders should have 21 squares. Top and Sashing and Trail Block bottom borders should have 23 squares. Sew a Trail Block to a Blue Houndstooth 2" x 9" rectangle. Repeat to make a row with 4 Trail Blocks and 3 sashing rectangles. Make 4 rows Border 3 labeled A. Side borders should be 46½". Top and bottom borders should be 58½". Posts and Sashing Sew a Blue Houndstooth 2" x 9" rectangle to a Red Herringbone Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with the 2" square. Repeat to make a row with 4 sashing rectangles and 3 Red Tweed fabric from the All About Plaids Collection. Have fun with square posts.
