Participants of Gay Straight Alliance’s event, Wear Your Heart On Your Sleeve day, on Wednesday, Feb. 10, wore heart stickers on their sleeves as part of a campaign to raise student awareness and under- standing about teen dating violence throughout the month. Although schools and communities across the nation have acknowl- edged the seriousness of dating violence since 2006, the U.S. Senate finally declared February as the official National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month on Jan. 15.
