PHILADELPHIA, PA –July 29, 2014 –Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT) proudly announces that Olympic Swimmer, Dara Torres, and Former Governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson, will act as the keynote speakers for IMPACT 2014. Bill Richardson will lead the discussion at the Breakfast on October 29th. Dara Torres will add an athletic presence to the IMPACT 2014 Luncheon. This year, IMPACT will explore innovation from the start-up to enterprise stages and highlight the latest advances in the technology, healthcare and early stage industries.  Dara Torres has competed in five and won 12 medals in her entire Olympic career. Her impressive performance in Beijing and her attempt at the 2012 London Olympic Games inspired many older athletes to consider re-entering the competition. She was the first female athlete ever to be featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2009, and won the ESPY award for “Best Comeback.” She was also named one of the “Top Female Athletes of the Decade” by Sports Illustrated Magazine.

Dara has impressive talents on dry land as well. Now a top-selling author, her memoir, “Age is Just a Number: Achieve Your Dreams at Any Stage in Your Life,” published in April 2009, was listed as one of the top 25 best-selling business books by June. Her second book, “Gold Medal Fitness: A Revolutionary 5-Week Program” hit the stands in May 2010 and now is a New York Times Best-Seller. Also a composed commentator, and guest host, Dara appeared on shows such as , ESPN, CNN, Piers Morgan Tonight, Today Show, Good Morning America, Kelly and Regis, and many others.

 Bill Richardson proudly served as Governor of New Mexico for eight years. He was elected in 2002 and re- elected in 2006 with the support of 69 percent of voters, representing the largest margin of victory for any Governor in state history. As Governor, Richardson's bold governing style moved New Mexico forward in several important areas, including clean energy, education, public safety, environment, transportation, healthcare and $1 billion in tax cuts for New Mexicans.

Prior to serving as Governor, he served 15 years in Northern New Mexico, representing the 3rd Congressional District (1983-97); as US Ambassador to the UN (1997-98) and Secretary of Energy (1998- 2001).

Prior to being elected, Richardson enjoyed a very successful career in public service; academia and the private sector—few can match his wide-ranging experience and his level of dedication to protecting the rights and improving the quality of life of people in New Mexico, the and around the world. “We are thrilled to have Bill and Dara as our keynote speakers. They both embody the essence of entrepreneurship and steering your own way towards success,” said Michael Purcell, Chairman of the IMPACT Capital Conference and Partner of Deloitte. “But we have more exciting developments to come – an additional keynote speaker and the full conference lineup to be announced over the next few months as we finalize this year’s Conference.” -MORE- (IMPACT page 2 of 2)
