Good for you, naturally Is God Enough for You? As we may be surrounded by chaos in the coming days, scripture says God will keep all who trust him. Faith begins with a total abonment of oneself into God’s care, but our faith must be active not passive. Faith is rarely evidenced in fair weather; faith is only really faith when all you have left is faith. We must have full confidence that God can will do the impossible. Jesus said “With God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). “With God nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37). In short faith says, “God is enough”. Our faith is not meant to get us out of a hard place or change our painful position. Rather it is meant to reveal God’s faithfulness to us in the midst of our dire situation. God does at times change our trying circumstances. But more often He doesn’t - because He wants to change us! We simply can’t trust God’s power fully until we experience it in the midst of our crisis. We think we’re witnessing great miracles whenever God ends our storms crises. But we can easily miss the lesson of faith in such times – the lesson that says God will remain faithful to us through our hard times. He wants to raise us above our trials through faith, so we can say, “My God can do the impossible. He’s a deliverer, He’s going to see me through”. Make sure you have enough of God to know He is more than enough for you! MGN

Typhoon Pools Pty. Ltd. has recently launched its racing and sports-betting totalisator business on Norfolk Island and we are seeking Expressions-of-Interest from Norfolk Island residents interested in a position within the company’s island-based operations team.

Operations Manager We are looking for a senior person - possibly with an administrative background, but certainly someone possessing a keen eye for detail - to manage our Norfolk Island totalisator operations. The successful candidate will not necessarily have prior experience in wagering or gaming but they must be able to show us a clear track record of working in a disciplined manner so that our business is at all times conducted within the regulatory and operational framework that governs our operations. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a small team of race day operations personnel and so we are looking for an individual with some experience organising and rostering a small team across multiple shifts. The applicant must be very comfortable working with computerised systems and must have demonstrable personal computer skills. The Operations Manager will report to the company’s management in Sydney and they will also be required to liaise with the Norfolk Island Gaming Authority. The position of Operations Manager is a full-time position.

Raceday Controllers We are also looking for people to fill several positions as raceday controllers. A raceday controller works under the direction of the Operations Manager and they are responsible for the entry of event and contestant information into the company’s computerised betting system. They also close the betting pools at the right time and monitor the running of races so that they can then enter the correct results for the race. A raceday controller does not need to have any prior experience in wagering or gaming nor have a detailed knowledge of racing but they must have a good attention span and be able to demonstrate that they are reasonably proficient with a personal computer. A highly detailed knowledge of any particular software application is not required since we will train successful applicants to use our system.

The position of raceday controller would suit people looking for a full-time job as well as people who are interested in working part-time.

If you are interested in applying for either of these positions please send your resume to [email protected] Max’s Department Store has a FULL TIME VISITING SPECIALISTS POSITION FOR A MATURE SALES ASSISTANT.
