BOULDER HOUSING PARTNERS TO HOST INTERNATIONAL DELEGATION JULY 15

Boulder, CO—Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) will host housing officials from and Canada on July 15 to learn about innovative approaches to affordable housing and economic development.

The tour is part of the summer conference of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials being held in Denver July 18-20.

“We’ll showcase several of our new communities and programs during the conference, and these officials wanted a more in-depth at some of our projects that are particularly cutting-edge,” said Betsey Martens, executive director of BHP and President of NAHRO.

Eight members from the South African Housing Federation and the president of the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association will meet with BHP and city officials. Then they’ll tour several affordable housing communities in Boulder.

Tour Stops

1:30 p.m. Holiday Neighborhood (Broadway and Yarmouth)

A former drive-in theater site, Holiday is an award-winning, mixed-use, mixed-income community. Forty-two percent of the homes are affordable, including homes for the chronically homeless and homes built by Habitat for Humanity. There are also a wide variety of market rate homes, as well as a community garden and active homeowners association.

2:30 p.m. Broadway East (3110 Broadway)

Fully redeveloped and repositioned public housing with enhanced resident services. Notable services include free after school tutoring and college tuition for children enrolled with the I Have a Dream Foundation.

3:15 p.m. Red Oak Park (Valmont between 28th and Folsom)

Transformation of a deteriorating mobile home park into a sustainable mixed-income community. Winner of the prestigious Global Award of Excellence from the Urban Land Institute.
