Kilkenny Council as part of the Southern Waste Management Region is endeavouring to encourage people to reduce consumer consumption by promoting the concept of repair as one method to reduce waste generation. Waste prevention is one of the main principles of the Southern Waste Management Plan that was launched in May 2015.
