Planned Support Champions for food Justice & healthier eating: A food systems & nutrition youth education & action program. This is a social justice oriented active learning project designed to foster healthy eating through engaging youth in a critical exploration of the food system at large and in their specific community, along with a practical understanding of nutrition concepts. Applying cultural knowledge and historical memory, with inter-generational connections, the project aims to promote healthy eating and address the metabolic and cardiovascular health inequalities in east Humboldt Park, Chicago.
