4.1. Principal

 La fête de la francophonie: Thanks to the French department for having a creative idea to have a French themed street in the hallway. There was an opportunity for classes to visit and ONLY speak French.

 CFER Open House: The CFER program hosted an open house for potential students from other schools to visit our WOTP. This is a great recruiting tool and helpful for parents to decide on their child’s academic pathway.

 Swim Champs: GMAA Juvenile Boys Swimmers won the GMAA championship. Thanks to Isabelle Lavoie for coaching the team to their victory.

 Tuesday on the Hill: 4 students and I were privileged to visit the parliament building and stay for question period. We were hosted by Frank Baylis (MP for Roxboro – DDO). The students were overjoyed to be in the same room as their handsome Prime Minister.  Cabane a Sucre: Chantal Cook took her class on a visit to the Cabane a Sucre. CFER and VISIONS feasted as well. This was another great initiative from the French

Department!

 Martinique: Asma Benami and another teacher from Lindsay Place High School coordinated a fantastic and successful exchange with a school in Martinique. The students were able to visit the school and participate in activities organized by the parents of the students in Martinique. This was a joint venture with LPHS. The students from Martinique will be coming in October and also in January. The goal is to grow this exchange for both RHS and LPHS.

 Basketball: Trevor and the Juvenile Boys Basketball team came in 9th at the provincial basketball tournament in Shawinagan. Unfortunately, they lost by 3 points in their first game. They had scored the last 18 points of that game. That team went on to win the provincial championship by beating their opponents by 20 points. The Spartans had a chance.
