NEW! NuStar Energy concluded a binding open season August 30, 2013 to determine interest in an expansion of the company’s Eagle Ford Shale – South Texas oil system. The expansion will add as much as 100,000 b/d of capacity moving oil to the company’s Corpus Christi North Beach facility. NuStar spent $425 million to acquire assets from TexStar Midstream in late 2012 and those assets will be part of the expansion. The expansion between the com- pany’s Gardendale Terminal in La Salle County and Cor- pus Christi will be conducted in two phases: Phase 1 – Will add 35,000 b/d of throughput available in the 3rd quarter of 2014 Phase 2 – Will add 65,000 b/d of throughput available in the first quarter of 2015. The expansion will raise total capacity in the system to 200,000 b/d. NuStar is making 90,000 of the 100,000 b/d expansion available to shippers.

TransCanada Corporation is pleased to announce it is mov- ing forward with the 1.1 million barrel per day (bbl/d) Energy East Pipeline project based on binding, long-term contracts received from producers and refiners. The conclusion of the YT successful open season confirmed strong market support NT NU for a pipeline with approximately 900,000 bbl/d of firm, long- term contracts to transport crude oil from Western Canada to

AB Eastern Canadian refineries and export terminals. MB BC

SK The existing gas pipeline system consists of several individual pipes running in parallel with each other. This project will entail the conversion of just one of QC those individual pipes. “We are very pleased with the outcome of the open season Hardisty PE ON for the Energy East Pipeline held earlier this year and are NB Québec City excited to move forward with a major project that will bring Saint John Montréal NS

many benefits across Canada,” said Russ Girling, Trans- New Pipeline Construction Terminals Canada’s president and chief executive officer. “This is an Existing Pipeline Conversion historic opportunity to connect the oil resources of western Canada to the consumers of eastern Canada, creating jobs, tax revenue and energy security for all Canadians for de- desire producers have to support safe and innovative ways cades to come.” to get their crude oil to market.

Girling added that interest in Energy East supports refiner- “Energy East is one solution for transporting crude oil but the ies’ desire to have access to a stable and reliable supply of industry also requires additional pipelines such as Keystone Western Canadian crude oil - pushing out more expensive XL to transport growing supplies of Canadian and U.S. crude crude oil from foreign regimes. Eastern Canada currently oil to existing North American markets,” added Girling. “Both imports approximately 700,000 bbl/d. It also confirms the pipelines are required to meet the need for safe and reliable pipeline infrastructure and are underpinned with binding, long-term agreements.”

The project is expected to cost approximately $12 billion, excluding the transfer value of Ca- nadian Mainline natural gas assets. The Ener- gy East Pipeline will have a capacity of approx- imately 1.1 million bbl/d and is anticipated to be in service by late-2017 for deliveries in Québec and 2018 for deliveries to New Brunswick.

The Energy East Pipeline project involves con- verting a portion of natural gas pipeline capac- ity in approximately 3,000 kilometres (1,864 miles) of TransCanada’s existing Canadian Mainline to crude oil service and constructing approximately 1,400 kilometres (870 miles) of new pipeline. The pipeline will transport crude oil from receipt points in Alberta and Saskatch- ewan to delivery points in Montréal, the Qué- bec City region and Saint John, New Bruns- wick, greatly enhancing producer access to Eastern Canadian and international markets. The pipeline will terminate at Canaport in Saint John, New Brunswick where TransCanada and Irving Oil have formed a joint venture to build, own and operate a new deep water marine terminal. While Energy East will use a portion of Canadian Mainline capacity, TransCanada is committed to continuing to meet the needs of its gas customers in eastern Canada and the N.E. United States.

Our 60 years of pipeline experience has taught us that to advance a project of this size, we must en- gage in open and meaningful discussions with Ab- original communities and key stakeholder groups. TransCanada has been out in the field collecting data and engaging with Aboriginal and stakeholder groups for the past several months as part of its initial design and planning work for the project and that will continue.

“TransCanada is a leading North American energy infrastructure company with one of the best safety records in the industry and that is something we are very proud of,” concluded Girling. “Energy East will be designed and operated with a singular focus on safety - that is what Canadians expect and that is what TransCanada will deliver. We all recognize that oil is essential in our daily lives. We need it to heat our homes, operate our vehicles and make thousands of products we rely on every day. What we must do is ensure the oil is transported safely and reliably.”

The company intends to proceed with the nec- essary regulatory applications for approvals to construct and operate the pipeline project and terminal facilities in early 2014.

With more than 60 years’ experience, TransCanada is a leader in the responsible development and reli- able operation of North American energy infrastruc- ture including natural gas and oil pipelines, power generation and gas storage facilities. TransCanada operates a network of natural gas pipelines that ex- tends more than 68,500 kilometres (42,500 miles), tapping into virtually all major gas supply basins in North America. TransCanada is one of the conti- nent’s largest providers of gas storage and relat- ed services with more than 400 billion cubic feet of storage capacity. A growing independent power producer, TransCanada owns or has interests in over 11,800 megawatts of power generation in Canada and the United States. TransCanada is de- veloping one of North America’s largest oil delivery systems. TransCanada’s common shares trade on the Toronto and New York stock exchanges under the symbol TRP
