REPORT OF LIBRARIAN.

Raleigh, N. C, January 4,, 1897.

John C. Deewry, Esq., Secretary Grand Lodge of North Carolina.

Dear Sir and Bro.: I hand you herewith a list of the bound volumes of the Proceedings of Grand Lodges and other Masonic Literature now in the Library of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina. Since my appointment as Librarian, I have exerted my- self to put the Library in good condition, and have used the small means at my command to the best advantage. An investigation showed that no volumes had been bound during the last fifteen years, and to have the binding done necessary to complete the volumes to date, would have in- curred more expense than the means at command would have justified. I have, however, had one hundred and sixty- seven (167) volumes bound, the cost of which was as much as I felt justified in expending in one year. There are still a number of volumes of different Grand Lodges, some incom- plete, on hand. I hope to receive the necessary numbers at an early day and finish the work. It is respectfully sug- gested that, in the future, there should be no unnecessary delay in binding these valuable records, as every day's delay renders it more difficult to secure missing numbers. Considering the limited means at command, and the ac- cumulations of years, I feel justified in saying that the Li- brary has been placed in very good condition, and respect- fully invite an examination of the same. Hoping that my efforts in this direction will meet with your approval and that of the Grand Lodge,

I am fraternally yours, R. H. Bradley, Librarian. Digitized by the Internet Archive
