The following is a writer’s guide I created, inspired by a toy concept.
RUDE DUDES WRITER’S GUIDE
Logline: We’ve been invaded...kind of! The Rude Dudes are here and they’re ready to take over! But there’s just one tiny little issue: they’re tiny little creatures! Unfortunately, they’re not letting their size hold them back, they’re getting to us the best way they know how, with the pet peeves that drive us crazy!
Strategy: Deliver a family friendly boys entertainment property that engages the viewer and provides humor and fun misadventures, while also breaking the normal standards of animation.
Target Consumer: Boys 5+
The World: Our Rude Dudes accidently find themselves in Manhattan, Kansas instead of Manhattan in NYC. They land at Washington Elementary School, and go home with 7-year-old Drew. Their mothership is left weak and unable to travel far distances after a run in with a water fountain, so the Rude Dudes are stuck! They promise not to torment Drew, as long as he keeps his promise to take them to his uncle, the President of E.A.R.T.H, in Washington. The Dudes park their Mothership next to the cage of Drew’s missing hamster, Chuckles, and make it their home.
The Rude Dudes decide to take full advantage of their time in Kansas. They plan to dominate it first, then take the rest of the U.S. under their control. So when Drew leaves for school, the Rude Dudes sneak out to torment local Kansas leaders. These leaders range from the soccer captain, president of the debate team, and the mattress king.
The Rude Dudes are constantly getting confused by human and American traditions. Their strong determination combined with their misunderstanding of earth makes for hilarious misadventures while the Rude Dudes’ “clever” attempts at taking down Kansas leaders, provides fun entertainment!
The Story: Every episode, the Mothership provides a nearby “leader” for the Dudes to take down. The Dude’s travel to the leader and begin to torment them. These takedowns usually occur before a major moment in the leader's life, such as the big soccer game, debate, or the biggest sale of the year.
The Rude Dudes, led by Stinky Dude, were sent to Earth by DUDE Inc. from the planet of Rude-opolis. Since the Dudes mission went awry, they are constantly trying to find ways to win the favor of the unseen “Father.” The Mothership is in constant communication with “Father” and lets the Dudes know whether they have pleased him.
Main Characters:
2 Drew: A seven year old boy who attends Washington Elementary School. He is quick on his feet and great at problem solving. Drew loves playing video games with his best friend, Colby. He lives with his father in Manhattan, Kansas. His uncle is the President of E.A.R.T.H, a health insurance company (but the Dudes don’t know that). Drew houses the Rude Dudes and teaches them manners, and American and human traditions.
Stinky Dude: Leader of the Rude Dudes. He is the STINKIEST fart man has ever encountered! He will follow you around and convince everyone that it was you who dealt it! Stinky takes all the blame for the Rude Dudes failures, and is constantly trying to prove himself as a great leader.
Jingle Dude: Ever had a terrible song stuck in your head? It was probably Jingle Dude! He loves to crawl inside ears and sing along to his banjo all day to drive you crazy.
Hangry Dude: About to have lunch? TOO BAD! I guarantee that this guy is already eyeing your food getting ready to steal your first bite and huck a loogie in it!
Sticky Dude: This gummy goblin gets stuck to EVERYTHING. Nothing is safe! Watch out for your shoes and hair because he will jump right on 'em! His favorite place to hide is under the desk at school.
Drowsy Dude: He uses his contagious sleepiness to make you tired when you don't want to go to bed yet or worse, in the middle of class!
The Mothership: Referred to as “Mother.” The Mothership doubles as the Rude Dude’s main source of transportation and knowledge about Earth. Although Mother has more knowledge of Earth than the Rude Dudes, she makes errors and miscalculations that sometimes gets the Dude’s into trouble.
Supporting/Recurring Characters:
Sock Dude: Ever wonder where your missing sock went? This little devil hides under the couch and will steal socks right off your feet.
Bald Dude: Nothing is more annoying than when this guy is constantly plucking hairs out of your head! (We all know that he only does it out of jealousy, because he is bald)
Booger Dude: This little bugger is extremely contagious! He always has a runny nose and if he gets ANYWHERE near you, you will get sick too! He can always be found at school.
Messy Dude: NOTHING is more villainous and evil than eating crackers in your bed and leaving you with crusty crumbs in your sheets. He is ALWAYS leaving crumbs in the WORST places.
Sneezy Dude: He crawls right up into your nose with that feather of his to tickle you until you start sneezing uncontrollably! He thinks it's hilarious, Booger Dude thinks it’s disingenuous.
Clumsy Dude: This dude is the MASTER at making you trip and *eat it*! All it takes is a little tug on the shoelaces and TIMBERRRRR! Check the inside of your shoes before you put them on because he likes to hide in there!
Moldy Dude: His favorite places to hide are in the fridge and lunch boxes. He loves to surprise you with moldy food! Watch out because he always goes for the cheese first!

Father: Father is the leader of Dude inc. He is never seen or heard, but is in constant communication with mother. He is often unsatisfied with the Rude Dudes since they were supposed to have Earth completely taken over in a week, but this does not stop them from trying to win his favor.
Colby: Drew’s neighbor who is also seven years old. Colby is strong-willed and won’t be told what to do. She can be a bit dramatic sometimes, but not in an annoying way. Colby and Drew usually get picked up at the same time and play games and do homework together.
Tone: Fantastical Seasoned in appropriate humor for 5+ year olds

Mattress King: The morning of the mattress king’s “Mega Earth-Shattering Sale,” The Rude Dudes decide to torment him into canceling because they don’t want the Earth to shatter since they are trying to take it over.
President of the Debate Team: The Rude Dudes find out that the Big Debate is a discussion on whether or not aliens exist in our world. Worried that their cover will be blown, the Dudes try to stop it.
Attack of Chuckles: Chuckles, Drew’s missing hamster, resurfaces and he’s in no chuckling mood when he sees others invading his home.
Pow!: An entire comic book episode. The Rude Dudes learn that Manhattan has a new vigilante. They battle the vigilante through the pages of the comic.
Father’s Day: Drew teaches the Dude’s about Father’s Day, so they spend the whole day making crafts and cards to send to “Father.”
4 Escape Room: The Dudes find themselves trapped inside of an escape room and must use everything they’ve learned about Earth to escape.
Epcot: The Rude Dudes sneak into Drews luggage and travel with him to Epcot. Once they see all the countries, they believe they have an easier shot at “taking over the world”

Stuck Together: Jingle gets a really catchy song stuck in Drew’s head, who gets it stuck into Colby’s head, the pattern continues until the whole school is humming the song.
Sign To Me: Jingle sneaks into Drew’s bookbag and sets his sights on a seemingly quiet girl he sees in the hallway. He tries every attempt at getting a song stuck in her head, but she just won’t hum it! At the end of the episode a woman signs, “how was your day?” to the girl and the girl signs “great!”
Silent but Deadly: Stinky travels Manhattan ruining people’s day with his foul odor. For example: A couple on a date, a restaurant, and a perfume store.
Lunch Time: Moldy Dude gets into Drew’s bag and follows him to school. At lunch time, he escapes and begins spoiling everyone’s lunch. Once he gets to the Cafeteria’s special Taco Surprise, he learns that he can’t spoil what’s already spoiled.
Silent Film: Set like a vintage silent film. The Rude Dudes come across a retired silent film star. She leads them on a day full of action, twists, and intrigue.
Mime Your Business: The Rude Dudes terrorize a retirement home for mimes. The mimes use their skills to trap the Dudes in boxes and take them down in their own imaginary way.
Jump: The schools annual jump rope competition goes awry when Trippy Dude shows up.
Quarantine: Sick Dude’s favorite “Earth band” comes to town and he decides to attend the concert. Unfortunately, everyone at the concert gets sick which turns into a full-blown epidemic.
Thanksgiving: Munchie Dude flies from house to house in Drew’s neighborhood eating and ruining their dishes.
Music to My Ears: Colby’s cousin is over, but doesn’t want to be bothered, not that Jingle Dude cares. He spends the day trying to get a song stuck in their ears, but it’s just not working. Finally, Colby comes to retrieve her cousin who promptly takes his headphones off and answers “what?”
The Shop: Bald Dude gets the job of his dreams at a barber shop.
Laundry Day: Sock Dude sneaks into a neighbors home who just happens to be a “neat freak.” He then takes one of every pair of socks they own.
Chuckle’s Returns: Part 2 of a continuous story line. Chuckles is back and less chucklier than ever! If he can’t have the cage, then no Dude can!

The following is a script I wrote for a dialogue-less animated children’s YouTube series.
Title: Faux Spas By: Pascale Questel
KITCHEN COUNTER- DAY
Rancheros and the yolksters are playing on the kitchen counter. They begin pushing and nudging each other as a form of entertainment. One of the yolksters pushes the other into the side of the microwave, then the other yolkster does the same.
The pushing causes a blue bottle labeled “Food Coloring” from the top of the microwave to fall onto one of the yolksters, covering his side in a blue liquid. The other yolkster begins laughing. The blue yolkster tries shaking the dye off but it stays on.
Rancheros walks over to the blue Yolkster and attempts to wipe the blue substance off, but it remains. The blue Yolkster begins panicking and jumps into the water-filled sink. The blue doesn’t come off of him, but the sink water begins to turn blue as well.
Rancheros appears shocked then intrigued. He turns around with a menacing grin and sees Sunny and Benedict on the other side of the counter. Sunny is doing model poses while Benedict takes pictures on a mini-polaroid camera.
Sunny goes to see the pictures, but appears happy with the outcome. Rancheros watches on and his grin gets wider and wider.
MICROWAVE- DAY
Sunny is inside the microwave looking at herself in the mirror, still practicing her modeling faces. Outside of the microwave Rancheros posts a paper onto the microwave door and runs off. Sunny turns to see the paper and walks over to read it. The paper reads “Spa Day - Models Only.” Sunny cheerfully grabs the paper and begins walking.
KITCHEN COUNTER- DAY
Sunny is walking on the counter looking for the spa. Rancheros and The Yolksters are peeking behind the blender laughing. They quickly walk near the sink and turn around. They each have letters on their backs.
6 Together they spell out “PAS.” Rancheros, who is standing in the middle with an “A” on his back, nudges the yolkster to his right. The Yolkster quickly moves so they now spell out “SPA.” Rancheros uses his tail to point to the sink that is now also filled with bubbles.
Sunny walks by, sees the “sign”, gets excited, and rushes to the sink. The yolksters and Rancheros begin giggling. Sunny turns around confused and they quickly stop. She looks at them suspiciously, then carries on to the sink.
SINK- DAY
Sunny dips her tail into the water in the sink, then dives in. Rancheros and the Yolksters all begin laughing uncontrollably. Sunny looks over at them and quickly jumps out of the water. She runs over to the toaster to see her reflection and she is completely blue.
Sunny screams.
KITCHEN COUNTER- NIGHT Sunny is hiding behind a blender. She peeks out and sees Humpty walking past. She hides. Humpty pauses in front of the blender and Sunny freezes in fear. Humpty sneezes then continues walking. Sunny turns around, eyes closed, relieved and lets out a big exhale.
She opens her eyes and sees Robin standing in front of her. She screams. Robin looks at Sunny’s blue shell up and down, scoffs and walks away. Sunny rolls her eyes and continues to sneakily walk over to the microwave.
CUT TO: Sunny walks over to the microwave and tries to pull the door open, but cannot. She looks up to see the top half of the microwave has been wrapped with clear plastic wrap. Behind her Rancheros and the Yolksters are rolling around laughing.
Sunny stands with her head down defeated. A bright flash is seen, Sunny looks up and is delighted to see Benedict blinding Rancheros and The Yolksters with the flash of his camera.
Rancheros and The Yolksters are disoriented as they try to back away, but Benedict and Sunny follow them, still snapping photos.
KITCHEN COUNTER- NIGHT
A trail of comical pictures leading to the sink shows Rancheros and The yolksters appearing dizzy as they run from Sunny and Benedict. At the edge of the sink, Rancheros and the yolksters look back into the water in fear, then turn to face Sunny and Benedict.
7 Benedict smiles and hands Sunny the camera. Sunny waves goodbye with her tail, then snaps one last photo. Rancheros and the yolksters fall deep into the water, then emerge blue. Benedict and Sunny laugh. Robin walks past the sink, sees the blue eggz in the water, rolls her eyes and walks away.
END.

9 The following is a first-draft preview of a short story I’m writing.
LO$T DOGS
Jahd stared at the bright blue Lotus Evora stopped at the red light in front of him. His palm burned on the concrete below. $106,850. God, the things he could do with that money. The things he could eat with that money. He remembered that summer day at the dealership. The look on his son Lucas’ face while he jumped from car to car, pretending he was the lead in The Fast and The Furious. The way his heart raced when they pulled his brand new white Evora around. He frowned at the memory. A small whimper brought him back to the present moment. He quickly removed his burning palm from the ground and glanced at his skin, now a deep-red color. Another whimper, louder this time, got him to look over at the small dog sitting beside him. Indi was all he had after the divorce. Well, all he still had. $9,200. “Ninety-two hundred fucking dollars. Who the hell spends that on a dog?” He never even wanted the dog, but she distracted Catherine, his ex-wife for a while, so he saw Indi as more of an employee than a pet. He looked back up to the street. The Evora was gone. He sighed and reached into his nearly empty backpack. As he pulled out a clear container, he tried to remember when he last fed Indi. It couldn’t have been more than five hours. At the rate they were going, there wouldn’t be enough for them to eat in the morning, which meant he had to get more today. He opened the lid and stared at the bones wondering if he could get away with giving her a few of those. There were only a few pieces of actual chicken left and he needed the sustenance if he was going to make the trek to Costco. Begrudgingly, he ripped a bit off and laid it on the ground in front of Indi. Before he could even wipe his hands on his tattered black sweats, Indi was done and begging for more. Greedy. He needed three more dollars to get another chicken. $5 for the rotisserie chicken and $3 for the teenage Costco cart-collector he persuaded to purchase the chicken for him.

MixDups Writer’s Guide
Logline: Grab your lab coats and let's get experimenting! Adalise and her MixDup pals are in the lab, so put on your goggles and get ready for cool experiments and fun adventures.
Strategy: To deliver a children's entertainment property that teaches children a little about science, while also keeping them engaged with silly humor and wacky situations.
Target Consumer: Children ages 5-12.
The World:
The MixDup friends mostly stay inside of Adalise’s lab, but sometimes she sends them to research cool far away places, like the moon or the rainforest, with her teleportation device. Adalise’s lab is located in the attic of her family’s home. Her parents are fully aware of the lab and often ask her what she’s come up with.
The Story: Adalise Forester is the oldest child of two Nobel prize winning scientists! She has her own mini lab and loves experimenting and inventing with her MixDup friends! Apollo and the gang all live in Adalise’s laboratory. Adalise and the MixDups are always doing fun experiments that sometimes get a little out of control. The MixDups can switch body parts and use this ability to help them during certain experiments. Each MixDup has a special ability, so they mix up to get the job done. For example, Inertia can fly and Gamma’s tongue is extremely sticky and can make anything attach to it. So if Adalise asked them to retrieve a beaker on a very high shelf they would attach Inertia’s wings to Gamma so he could fly up and get it with his tongue. They can also store things inside of their body, although they mostly keep the body parts that they are not using in there. However, if Adalise sends them to collect rocks from the moon, they would store them in their body.
Adalise has three younger siblings, who are also triplets: Galileo, Dorothy, and Pascal. They want to be scientists just like Adalise and their parents, but are constantly told they are too young. So they sneak into the lab when Adalise isn’t around and wreak havoc. Their goal is to prove to their parents and Adalise that they aren’t too young to explore science, but rather than learning and implementing what they learned, they just wing it. They mix chemicals that shouldn’t be mixed together, and send the MixDups to wild and dangerous places all in the name of science.
The Forester household is very futuristic, cool, and technologically advanced. Many of the inventions that Adalise’s parents created are showcased or used around the house. They have an invention for almost everything: A kitchen that makes their breakfast for them, a window washing drone, and a trash launcher.
Characters:
Adalise: Adalise is a ten year old scientist. She invented the MixDups in her lab and teaches them about science and technology. She is curious about everything and always tries to find an answer to the things
11 happening around her. She has already won numerous science fairs, and creates inventions that help her and her friends with various tasks.
Coal: Coal is the smartest of the MixDups and loves to read and experiment. He is Adalise’s right hand-man in the lab. He loves to travel to cool places and conduct research. He’s always thinking on his feet and usually helps the MixDups get out of sticky situations.
Atom: Atom is Coal’s best friend. He’s full of energy and bounces off walls...literally. He is very clumsy and crazy, and tends to act before he thinks, which gets him into trouble. He loves having fun and is always ready for an adventure. Atom helps Coal loosen up and have fun, while Coal helps Atom tone down a little.
Byte: Byte is the strongest of the MixDup crew. He uses his body to break through walls and barriers like a wrecking ball.
Inertia: Inertia is the only MixDup that can fly. She uses her ability to help the MixDups reach high places. She also has the ability to see at night or in the dark; unfortunately, her sight during the day is absolutely terrible.
Big Bang: Big Bang is commonly referred to as B.B. He is the biggest MixDup and loves to eat and give hugs.
Gamma: Gamma is the only MixDup that can glow in the dark. She also has laser vision which helps the MixDups get through glass and metal, when necessary. Her tongue is also extremely sticky, which helps with grabbing stuff.
Galileo, Dorothy, and Pascal: Adalise’s three younger siblings. The triplets are out to prove that you can be a scientist at any age, but their recklessness proves that they’re not quite ready for the lab.
Execution:

One Giant Step: Adalise sends the MixDups to the moon in search of a specific moon rock for an invention. While there, they make some interesting new friends.
Who Stole the Cookies From the Cookie Jar: The MixDups try to find the best match up to get the cookies from the top of the fridge.
Invasive Species: The MixDups have to protect the lab from the triplets when Adalise is sick.
Rainforest: Adalise sends the MixDups to the rainforest to pick up a special flower for her mothers birthday.
Where’s B.B?: The ultimate game of hide and seek takes place, and B.B. is the default winner when the MixDups spend all night looking for him.
Levitation: After Inertia hurts her wings and can’t fly, the MixDups and Adalise try to invent a new way to fly.
Science Fair: The MixDups hold their very own science fair in the lab, with Adalise as the judge. But chaos ensues when the triplets attempt to “tweak” the projects.
Galileo, Galileo: Galileo decides he doesn’t want to be a scientist anymore, and wants to play sports instead.
Bermuda: The MixDups try to solve the Bermuda triangle mystery.
The Virus: The MixDups teleport into Adalise’s broken computer to try and fix it. While inside they encounter the virus from the triplet’s computer game, and it tries to eat them.
Endangered: The MixDups try to rescue the polar bears.
Bots: Adalise’s parents bring home two robots that they invented, and the MixDups are suspicious of them.
Take a Byte, Gain a Pound: Byte is mistaken for a dog and taken to the pound. The MixDups work together to rescue him.
I Don’t Think We’re in the Lab Anymore: Dorothy sneaks into the teleportation device and gets sent to Oz.
Pascal’s Love Triangle: Pascal has a crush on two classmates and uses the MixDups and some of Adalise’s other experiments to impress them.
Gamma Fish: Gamma spends the day in the fish tank seeking peace and quiet, but discovers life in the water comes with its own problems.

Hurts By Pascale Questel
Cora jumped up in her bed at the sound of her father’s screaming. Her heart pounded as she began wondering what she did this time. Washed the dishes. Swept the floor. Made dinner. What did you do, Cora? What did you do?
“What the hell is the matter with you?” her father growled, storming towards her bedroom.
Cora scrambled to her feet, she grabbed the sketchbook from her desk and hid it under her bed. She quickly rushed to her door in an attempt to shut it before he got there. She pushed the door just as he reached in, crushing his hands on the lock jamb in the process. Cora immediately let go of the door. Her father pushed it open violently, smacking her with it. Cora fell to the floor in tears.
“Oh, you’ve really done it this time, girl,” her father said with a menacing grin.
“Wait. Dad please. I can fix it,” Cora sobbed.
“Not this time.” He grabbed a handful of Cora’s copper hair and dragged her into the living room. He shoved her face into a picture on the coffee table. “How many times have I told you not to leave pictures of her lying around, huh? How many? Is your fifteen-year-old mind that stupid?” he said more aggressively smashing Cora’s nose onto the glossy surface of the photo. The photo was unclear, blurred by the tears in Cora’s eyes, but she knew exactly what it was. When the tears finally rolled down, she stared into the cheery green eyes of her mother.
“I’m so… I’m sorry, daddy. I forgot I left it here.” Cora managed between breaths. She had been staring at the photo the night before attempting to remember what life was like when her mother was around.
“What’s your fascination with that bitch anyway, huh? Do you like how she abandoned her four-year-old? Do you like that she doesn’t give two shits about you? C’mon tell me, girl! What’s so great about her?” her father snarled, still slamming her face into the photo.
“Let go of me!” Cora yelled, fed up with her lack of control over the situation. She dug her nails into her father’s hand, hoping to weaken his grip.
“Oh, look who’s a tough girl now. You wanna fight back, then fight back. I dare you.” He tightened his grip on Cora’s hair, lifted her up and swung her against a wall.
Cora let out a loud yelp, “please…stop! This hurts!” she begged.
“Yeah? Well guess what, tough hurts!” He yelled, pushing her back onto the ground.

20 Cora stood in front of her mirror, staring at her reflection. She wiped the blood from her nose and the tears from her eyes. I hate him. I hate him, she thought. She wasn’t abandoning me; she was running away from him! Cora changed out of her pajamas, brushed her teeth, and applied make up over old bruises.
She walked over to her bed and pulled out a box from under it. On top of the box was the sketch book, she opened it and stared at the drawings. The first few pages held her mother’s sketches, the rest hers. One day, I’ll leave just like she did. I’ll move to New York and become a famous artist. He’ll sit here, read about me in the newspaper and regret everything he did to me. She put the sketchbook down and opened the box. Inside of it were several framed pictures- every picture she ever found of her mother. She picked one up, kissed it, placed it back into the box, and pushed it under the bed. She walked over to her desk and picked up a wooden music box. When she opened the lid, her eyes filled with tears as the magical tune escaped from its closure. She wiped them away once more and read the inscription on the inside of the box. To my beautiful baby girl, let the music set you free –Mom. Cora jumped at a sudden knock on her front door. She closed the box, grabbed her backpack, and left.
“Hey, Core.”
“Don’t call me that,” Cora replied, forcing a smile. She walked out of the house and locked the door.
Jason looked at Cora for a while, noticing how puffy her eyes were. He knew there was no use bringing it up, and decided to just ignore it. “But you’re evil to the core,” he teased. Cora rolled her eyes, locked the door and they began walking to school.
“Yea, but my name is Cora. No one ever calls me Cora.”
“What do you mean, Cor-ella De Vil? Teachers call you Cora. Your family calls you Cora. It’s really just me who doesn’t.”
“My dad doesn’t call me Cora,” she said quietly. “He doesn’t call me anything, sometimes he calls me “girl.” He won’t say my name because it reminds him of my mom.”
Jason looked at Cora hurt for a while before finally changing the subject. “So do you think your sketches will get you that art scholarship?”
“I don’t know. I don’t like talking about it. I feel like I’ll jinx it or something.”
“Oh c’mon Core, you can’t jinx talent.”
“I know, but ugh things happen. Especially to me.”
“Well when are you turning in your sketches?”
“Next week. I just have to do some final edits. I’m so nervous. I just want it bad, ya know. It’s my only ticket away from here.”
“You’ll get it. I know you will,” Jason said, flashing Cora with a huge smile.

21 Cora walked into her house and quietly closed her front door when she noticed her dad passed out on the couch, surrounded by beer bottles. He’s drunk, good. She put her backpack on the ground and walked into the kitchen, relieved her father was too intoxicated to continue their fight from that morning. As she was preparing her dinner, her father turned over on the couch knocking a beer bottle down and startling himself awake.
“Where have you been?” He said, his words slurred.
“Uh, school and then the library,” she replied.
“Hey, look. I’m really sorry about earlier, ya know. I just…I don’t know. Sometimes I feel like you like her more than you like me. And that’s just not fair, ya know, cause you don’t even know her. You know me. I’m all you got and I’m all you ever had.”
Cora fought back the anger and tears, knowing giving into the feelings would cause more pain. The house filled with silence as Cora considered her safest options.
“Okay, dad,” she said finally.
“I love you, you know. I’m just not so good at showing it sometimes.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“No one will ever love you more than your dad,” he slurred, already halfway into what was left of his alcohol-induced coma.
Cora abandoned her dinner and rushed to her room, praying to God that wasn’t true.

After school the next day, Cora walked into her house and immediately froze. There was broken glass and paper everywhere. She continued walking and noticed torn pictures scattered all over the floor. The amount of glass increased, the closer she got to her room.
No, please no.
She stepped into her room and saw her father passed out on her bed, with a picture of her mother in one hand and a beer in the other. The box from under her bed was tipped over on her floor, empty. She walked over to him with tears in her eyes, and paused when she stepped on something hard. She looked down, and saw the broken wooden pieces of her music box. Cora’s heart pounded as she quietly searched for her sketchbook. Her eye finally caught the attention of white scraps of paper. She covered her mouth and let out a silent cry, as she picked up the torn pieces of her drawings.
That’s it, Cora! This is over. End this. Now. Cora slowly walked out of the room, picked up a large shard of glass, and walked back in. She closed her door quietly behind her, and stared at her father. End it, Cora. He’s taken EVERYTHING from you. Your mom, your happiness, and now your future. She slowly walked over to him, and hovered over his sleeping body. She took the sharp edge of the glass and poked him with it. He woke up, alarmed.
22 “What are you doing, girl?” he asked, still catching his breath.
“MY NAME IS CORA!” she yelled, driving the glass in and out of his abdomen. Her body began to tremble as she watched the blood ooze from her father.
He let out a gasp and attempted to yank the glass from her hands. “Co- Cora… stop! Please!”
Cora tightened her grip on the glass, and plunged it into him again, and again.
“Cora… please… it hurts,” he said weakly.
The sides of Cora’s lips slowly curled into a sinister grin, “Yeah?” she said mockingly. “Well tough hurts.”
