Dear Parents

TOMORROW - Friday 28th May 2021

It’s finally happening! Tomorrow is our Race for Life event. Please can the children come into school wearing their PE kit and trainers but jazz up your look with something pink and/or blue which are the Cancer UK colours. During the afternoon, the children will be completing an active mile course around the playground and field. They can either walk or jog the course for 20 minutes and will get a medal for taking part. (Please note that there will be different time slots for KS1 and KS2). Thank you for your donations so far, and you can make your donation via our JustGiving page:

CONGRATULATIONS - to Amelie Scrimshaw! We recently took part in an art project for the Truro and Roseland Learning Community (TRLC); and the amazing Amelie has been selected as one of the 3 winning entries across all the schools in the community. Her artwork, entitled ‘Hope’, will now adorn the Awards Programme and she wins a £20 voucher from TRLC to spend in Truro Arts.

Class news:

Robin and Puffin classes have had a lovely week! They have been finishing their topic of Kings, Queens and Castles which they have thoroughly enjoyed. They celebrated in style with a Medieval banquet and entertainment including maypole dancing and singing.

Starling class have been exploring rocks and fossils as part of their topic work and excitingly, they have been making their own adverts for the cereal brands they are creating.

You will be sent a form via Arbor giving you the afternoons you can expect a phone call. Please respond to the form which will ask you for the best contact number and for times when you CANNOT take a phone call from us. Assessments are on-going but whole school assessment weeks are planned for week commencing 28thJune 2021 and 5th July 2021 with written reports being sent home by the end of term.

Visitors – Our current guidance for schools is to limit visitors to school sites. At the moment we are unsure if parents can attend the end of year production but will endeavour to share their performance with you virtually.

Holidays – Over the half-term break fast approaching, please remember that you still need to report any positive Covid test results using the on-line form:

Have a great half term break; hopefully we will have some lovely weather to enjoy. Remember that Monday 7th June 2021 is an inset day so school returns on Tuesday 8th June 2021.

Yours sincerely
