Anti-VLDL Receptor Antibody (BPE) Product Number: AC12-1297-08

Overview Host Species: Mouse Clonality: Monoclonal (VLDLR/1337) Purity: Antibody is purified from bioreactor concentrate by Protein A/G. The antibody is then conjugated to B-Phycoerythrin, also known as BPE or B-PE, which is a form of the photosynthesis protein phycoerythrin (PE). BPE has less nonspecific staining than it’s “R” counterpart, RPE in some fluorescent assays. Isotype: IgG1 Conjugate: BPE Immunogen Type: Anti-VLDL receptor antibody was raised against recombinant human VLDLR fragment from c-terminal (exact sequence is proprietary). Physical Characteristics Amount: 0.05 mg Concentration: 1 mg/ml Volume: 0.05 ml Buffer: Antibody is purified from Bioreactor Concentrate by Protein A/G. Prepared in 10mM PBS at 1.0mg/ml. Storage: B-PE conjugated antibody can be stored at 4?C for up to 18 months. For longer storage the conjugate can be stored at -20?C after adding 50% glycerol. B-PE conjugated antibodies should always be stored in the dark. Specificity Species Reactivity: Human, Rat Specificity: VLDLR (very low density receptor) is a member of the LDL receptor gene family, which includes LDL receptor, LRP, megalin, VLDLR and ApoER2. The LDL receptor family is characterized by a cluster of cysteine-rich class A repeats, (EGF)-like repeats, YWTD repeats and an O-linked sugar domain. VLDLR associates with RAP (receptor associated protein) during receptor folding, and RAP facilitates the secretion of the extracellular region of VLDLR. VLDLR is thought to mediate the interaction of extracellular and cytosolic mDab1 (mammalian disabled protein), which activates a tyrosine kinase. This pathway regulates the migration of neurons along the radial glial fiber network during brain development. Target Information Accession Number(s): Swissprot: P98155 (Human) Gene ID Number(s): 370422 (Human) Alternative Names: FLJ35024; Very low density lipoprotein receptor; Very low-density lipoprotein receptor; VLDL R; VLDL receptor; VLDL-R; VLDLR; VLDLR_HUMAN; VLDLRCH Application Details Tested Applications: WB, IHC, ICC, IF, FC Western Blot: Recommended starting concentration for western blot is 0.5-1 ug/ml. Immunocytochemistry: Recommended starting concentration for immunocytochemistry is 1-2 ug/ml for 30 min at RT (staining of formalin-fixed tissues is enhanced by boiling tissue sections in 10mM Tris with 1mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes). Immunoflourescence: Recommended starting concentration for immunofluorescence is 0.5-1 ug/ml.
