League President Ed Abakumoff anchoring for his first place Riverside went on a striking spree in the first game with Pablo Yamo of 2nd place S.F. Valley in the final position round. $1500 First Place After matching Yoma with strikes, Abakumoff hit a bump in 7th frame and Yoma continued with (based on 16 teams) 10 in a row only to be tapped with 10-pin standing on his 11th ball. Yoma spared for his season best 289 while Big Ed in 8th and 9th spared in 10th for a 255. Bob Jones has the league’s season -Bowl 17 weeks high game, 298. In 2nd game, Yoma lost his carry and finished with a 171 while Big Ed kept on striking until an -$20/bowler/week open in 8th frame and spare in 9th and struck out for another 255. In the 3rd game, it was all Big -League bowled on USBC/PBA-approved patterns Ed with strike, spare and 10 in a row for a neat 280 for the league’s season high 790 series, 10 pins short of a much pursued 800.
