Yes, Please add any comments relating to country data collection and submission here (e.g. description of the country process of collecting responses and leading to this consolidated response, key stakeholders involved in assessment, etc.). (Max 1000 characters): To take advantage of the opportunities presented by Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, a Presidential Decree signed in October 2016 created the National Coordination Council for Sustainable Development (NCCSD) in Azerbaijan. The drafting of Azerbaijan’s Voluntary National Review of progress in the national implementation of Agenda 2030 was presented at the UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York in July 2017. The Government of Azerbaijan has demonstrated a commitment to translating the principles of sustainable development, as articulated in Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, into national policies and programming. It has set out a policy framework for doing so, and is now engaged in its implementation. The Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 and its accompanying sustainable development goals (SDGs) represent a transformative set of commitments for ending poverty, protecting the planet, and prosperity for everyone. The UN Development System supports the national implementation of these commitments via the inter-agency MAPS platform, under which various UN agencies provide technical assistance in support of national SDG implementation as per the “Delivering as One” logic.
