Message from the Co-Chairs

On behalf of The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey, we welcome you to the 123rd Anniversary Gala, Seeds of Hope. As we celebrate this milestone, we think it is important to reflect on the tremendous impact this organization has had. Each year, this event brings together the agency’s most dedicated supporters, community partners, and friends to celebrate another successful year of saving children’s lives and building healthy families. Last year alone, 59,000 infants, children, and families in New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania were helped by the many programs and services provided by this agency.

We have a fun evening planned for you, including a putting contest, wonderful silent auction items, and an over-the-top live auction. We’ll entertain you with the Traditional Blues and Jazz Band during our cocktail hour, and you’ll be dancing to Shorty Long and the Jersey Horns all night. We also have very special performances for you by our Head Start Kids and our Tedi Dancers, who will delight you with dance and song. And please take note – your centerpieces are made of onesies, and they will be given to the children served by The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey.

Thank you to our sponsors and advertisers who have contributed to this event. Thank you also to all of you who are here supporting us tonight. Your generosity will enhance the agency’s successful programs and touch the lives of our communities’ most vulnerable babies, children, youth, and families.

We offer our heart-felt appreciation to Pamela Cipriano, who worked tirelessly to help us bring all of the parts of this evening together and was our guide, mentor, and friend. We couldn’t have done this without you! Thanks also to Angela Giacolona, Justin Girard, and Dana Johnson for all of your enthusiasm, hard work, and dedication. And finally, we would like to thank the many volunteers who gave of their time and talents to make this evening possible. We hope you enjoy this evening as much as we have enjoyed planning it.

Message from the President & CEO, and Chairman of the Board of The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey

Since 1894, The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey has worked tirelessly to fulfil our incredibly important mission; saving children’s lives and building healthy families. We are proud of our successful outcomes in this critical pursuit and continue to plant Seeds of Hope for the 59,000 at-risk children and families we serve throughout New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania each year. For 123 years CHS has accomplished this by employing and training our fantastic staff, maintaining a dedicated and insightful Board of Trustees, teaming up with 900 active volunteers, and partnering with wonderfully caring friends like you.

Tonight, we are proud to honor our longtime corporate partner Bristol-Myers Squibb. For nearly 30 years, Bristol-Myers Squibb anchored by their ethos of conscientious citizenship has helped us achieve extraordinary results for the babies, children, and families we serve through their charitable support and the volunteer participation of their outstanding employees. It is with tremendous gratitude and appreciation that we bestow our 2017 “Champion of Children” award on this extraordinary company and valued partner.
