NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY IS MAKING AN IMPACT IN SOUTH AND BEYOND.

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) has earned national and international acclaim for the quality of its more than 140 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. As the ninth largest private, not-for-profit research institution of higher learning in the U.S., NSU’s educational offerings range from an award-winning early childhood education center to a respected college prep school, from innovative undergraduate degree programs to some of the nation’s top master’s, doctoral and professional programs. NSU’s alumni practice in fields including law, medicine, dentistry, nursing, business, oceanography, optometry, psychology, education, pharmacy, computer science, and more.

And not only is NSU an academic leader, but an economic leader, too: the university, its students and employees have an annual impact on Florida’s economy that exceeds $2.6 billion.

NSU is one of only 37 colleges or universities out of more than 4,000 to hold the distinction of being recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as a research university with “high research activity,” and also earn Carnegie’s Community Engagement Classification for the university’s continuing contributions to the community.

NSU conducts research in areas such as cancer therapies, coral reef preservation, chronic fatigue syndrome, wildlife DNA forensics, and stem cell applications. In fact, NSU recently opened America’s largest coral reef research facility, the $50 million Center of Excellence for Coral Reef Ecosystems Science, in Hollywood, FL.

Additionally, NSU’s $73 million Center for Collaborative Research, with construction beginning in 2014, will expand the university’s research capabilities. The facility will include wet labs for NSU researchers, as well as a General Clinical Research Center, an outpatient facility designed to benefit investigators in multiple disciplines.
