WLU GOLDEN HAWKS FACE
CRUCIAL TEST THIS WEEKEND
Waterloo Lutheran University GOLDEN HAWKS face the most important
game of the year this Saturday, Oct. 29, as they travel to Hamilton to
play the McMaster MARAUDERS. Both teams are undefeated in the Ontario
Intercollegiate Football Conference this year.
The GOLDEN HAWKS are sporting a 5-0 won-lost record while McMaster
has a 4-0 record.
Both teams advanced their position in the league standings last
weekend. The GOLDEN HAWKS defeated the University of Waterloo WARRIORS
17-7 while McMaster took a 24-13 decision over the Carleton RAVENS.
John Watson again lead the HAWKS in total yards rushing last
Saturday as he collected 83 yards along the ground, followed closely by
Murray Markowitz with 76 yards.

A large number of Waterloo Lutheran students are expected to travel to McMaster on Sat. by chartered bus to see the game, which begins at
2:00 p.m. and is part of the annual homecoming festivities of McMaster
University.
The GOLDEN HAWKS will entertain at their own homecoming next Sat.,
Nov. 5 when they host the Royal Military College REDMEN, in the final league game of the 1966 O.I.F.C. season.
An added highlight to the game last Saturday against the University of Waterloo was the presence of Rick Bryant in the stands. Rick was the
WLU football player injured in an exhibition game in Edmonton on Sept. 16 who recently returned from hospital in Edmonton and is making an excellent recovery.
