Rodriguez announced today that his office will waive penalty and interest fees from property tax payments made after May 10, for accounts that meet certain qualifi- cations. “We have been waiting for state legislation to pass so that our office can legally provide some relief to Doña Ana County taxpayers who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Rodriguez said. House Bill 6 provides such a relief by temporarily waiving penal- ty and interest for the second half of the 2019 tax liabilities on ac- counts that were current before May 10, 2020. The bill also provides significant relief and support measures for individuals, businesses and local governments, throughout the state. Qualified tax- payers will not receive penalty or interest on their balance until May 10, 2021. “Our office will be working hard to identify residents who already paid the fees and qualify for this waiv- er. We will credit their accounts and apply it to their 2020 tax liability,” Rodriguez said. Residents who were unable to pay property taxes on time are en- couraged to contact the County Treasurer’s office at 575-647-7433. • 'Nothing but the Truth': Genre, Gender and Knowledge in the US
‘Nothing but the Truth’: Genre, Gender and Knowledge in the US Television Crime Drama 2005-2010 Hannah Ellison Submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) University of East Anglia School of Film, Television and Media Studies Submitted January 2014 ©This copy of the thesis has been supplied on condition that anyone who consults it is understood to recognise that its copyright rests with the author and that no quotation from the thesis, nor any information derived therefrom, may be published without the author's prior, written consent. 2 | Page Hannah Ellison Abstract Over the five year period 2005-2010 the crime drama became one of the most produced genres on American prime-time television and also one of the most routinely ignored academically. This particular cyclical genre influx was notable for the resurgence and reformulating of the amateur sleuth; this time remerging as the gifted police consultant, a figure capable of insights that the police could not manage. I term these new shows ‘consultant procedurals’. Consequently, the genre moved away from dealing with the ills of society and instead focused on the mystery of crime. Refocusing the genre gave rise to new issues. Questions are raised about how knowledge is gained and who has the right to it. With the individual consultant spearheading criminal investigation, without official standing, the genre is re-inflected with issues around legitimacy and power. The genre also reengages with age-old questions about the role gender plays in the performance of investigation. With the aim of answering these questions one of the jobs of this thesis is to find a way of analysing genre that accounts for both its larger cyclical, shifting nature and its simultaneously rigid construction of particular conventions.

A VIRTUAL CABARET BENEFITING THE NATIONAL BREAST CANCER COALITION FUND FROM THE HOSTS OF AND THE NEWGala YORK Sunday, December 6, 2020 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET A LETTER FROM FRAN Dear Friends, Welcome to our first-everVirtual Cabaret Event and an evening of talented performances and tantalizing fun, all for a great cause. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of our Les Girls Cabaret and the 25th Anniversary of our NY Gala, and these two special events have sustained the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), year after year. When the pandemic hit, I began to wonder if either event would happen. But we found a way. Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our Event Committee, the encouragement of our sponsors, the personal commitment of our hosts and performers, and the imagination of our production team, we are able to combine both events and once again offer a one-of-a-kind, fantastic evening. We are forever grateful to all of them. Since 1991, NBCC has been at the vanguard of the breast cancer movement, elevating breast cancer to an issue of national significance. NBCC brought about a federal research program that has awarded over $3.75 billion in research grants. We empower women and men, through education and training, to become a unified voice to save lives. And through our Artemis Project®, we lead a collaboration of exceptional scientists and dedicated advocates who focus on research to prevent women and men from getting breast cancer in the first place and stop it from metastasizing and taking lives.
