QUESTIONS

1. KGOSI O. SETLHODI (SPECIALLY ELECTED): To ask the Minister of (193) Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism to state:-

(i) interventions planned to assist Tsibogolamatebele farmers in Chanoga area on human wildlife conflict and reasons for the delay;

(ii) when she intends to address shortage of transport at Problem Animal Control Unit in Maun.

2. KGOSI E. JOEL (BOBIRWA REGION): To ask the Minister of (201) Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism if she is aware that most villages in Bobirwa have given up on farming due to continuous destruction of their crops by wild animals and if so, what permanent solution she will put in place to avert the occurrence of this problem.

3. KGOSI O. SETLHODI (SPECIALLY ELECTED): To ask the Minister of (222) Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services to state:-

(i) the names of the owners of ranches OM132 and OM134 at Haina veldt;

(ii) why residents of Chanoga South, Mawana South and Samedupi South did not benefit from the land within their vicinity through Chanoga Development Trust; and

(iii) the selection criteria used for obtaining ownership of the above mentioned ranches.

4. KGOSI M. KAHIKO III (GHANZI WEST REGION): To ask the Minister (224) of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services to update this Honourable House on progress made regarding the allocation of community boreholes for Charles Hill and Ncojane villages as it was resolved by the Ghanzi Land Board.

5. KGOSI O. SETLHODI (SPECIALLY ELECTED): To ask the Minister of (228) Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services to explain:-

(i) how waste water from the Maun Sewerage Project will be disposed;

(ii) if the river is going to be used as a disposal site for the above project; and if so,

(iii) the implications on communities who largely depend on the water from the river for their livelihood.

6. KGOSI M. MOTSWAGOLE (MOLEPOLOLE REGION): To ask the (232) Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services to state when the construction of Molepolole sewage system will commence given that the absence of this system in such a largely populated village has delayed other important developments.

7. KGOSI M. KAHIKO III (GHANZI WEST REGION): To ask the Minister (236) of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services to update this Honourable House on progress made regarding the allocation of ploughing fields at Charles Hill to farmers who were on the waiting list as well as those given plot numbers but have never been allocated.

8. KGOSI K. FISH (SPECIALLY ELECTED): To ask the Minister of Land (240) Management, Water and Sanitation Services:-

(i) whether he is aware of the water shortage at Nokaneng village and if so, what his plans are to address the situation; and

(ii) if he has any plans to extend Nokaneng water treatment plant to meet the population demand.

9. KGOSI R. RANCHOLO (TUTUME REGION): To ask the Minister of (254) Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism if she is aware that there are Heritage Sites at Gweta village and what measures are in place to protect such sites.

10. KGOSI T. MUNDUU (NGAMI REGION): To ask the Minister of Local (255) Government and Rural Development to update this Honourable House on the number of Tribal Administration offices that are connected with internet and air conditioners in Ngami Region since the process was adopted in the past and further explain what caused the delay.

11. KGOSI MOSADI (GA-MALETE): To ask the Minister of Basic Education (256) to update this Honourable House on progress made regarding the implementation of the approved motion on resourcing Parent-Teacher- Associations (PTAs) to run workshops and equip parents with parenting skills.

12. KGOSI E. S. GOBUAMANG (THAMAGA REGION): To ask the Minister (257) of Transport and Communications when he would consider tarring Gakgatla-Gamodubu road.

13. KGOSI KGARI III (BAKWENA): To ask the Minister of Local (258) Government and Rural Development:-

(i) to apprise this Honourable House of the average time taken by the Minister to approve a recommended candidate once the matter has been settled by the court; and

(ii) in light of the above, why did it take 15 months to get an approval of the Matlhalerwa ward candidate in Molepolole following judgment on the appeal case number CACGB-228-18.

14. KGOSI T. MUNDUU (NGAMI REGION): To ask the Minister of (259) Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism if she is aware that Khoemacau mine has closed the fire breaks that run from Makalamabedi to Old Ghanzi gravel with a gate hence making it difficult for farmers to access their farms through the fire breaks; and if so, how she intends to rectify the problem.

15. KGOSI R. RANCHOLO (TUTUME REGION): To ask the Minister of Local (260) Government and Rural Development if he has any plans to make Gweta village a service centre.

16. KGOSI D. S. TOTO II (KGALAGADI SOUTH REGION): To ask the (261) Minister of Transport and Communications whether he has plans to maintain by tarring the Werda/Hereford, Khawa/, Gakhibane/Khawa, /, /Transfontier Park and Tsabong/ roads.

17. KGOSI E. MOLEHELE (GHANZI EAST REGION): To ask the Minister of (262) Local Government and Rural Development if it is not opportune to give Tribal Administrators in districts powers to employ and promote junior officers.

18. KGOSI D. S. TOTO II (KGALAGADI SOUTH REGION): To ask the (263) Minister of Basic Education to consider handing over the Tsabong Junior Secondary School buildings to Institute of Development Management (IDM) since the buildings have not been utilised.

19. KGOSI T. MUNDUU (NGAMI REGION): To ask the Minister of Local (264) Government and Rural Development to apprise this Honourable House on progress made regarding the replacement of the boarded vehicles in the following villages in Ngami Region:-

(i) Komana (ii) Semboyo (iii) Toteng (iv) Sehithwa (v) Bothatogo (vi) Bodibeng (vii) Kareng (viii) Tsau (ix) Makakung (x) Ikoga (xi) Nxau Nxau (xii) Etsha 13

20. KGOSI E. S. GOBUAMANG (THAMAGA REGION): To ask the Minister (265) of Basic Education if he is aware that Sekgele Community Junior Secondary School staff houses in Thamaga are due for maintenance and if so, when he intends to maintain them.

21. KGOSI D. S. TOTO II (KGALAGADI SOUTH REGION): To ask the (266) Minister of Transport and Communications to explain if there are any plans to improve network in areas between Tsabong, , Bokspits and catchment areas.

22. KGOSI S. MOSOJANE (NORTH EAST): To ask the Minister of Local (267) Government and Rural Development to explain when he will come up with a title for the current Court Presidents who are currently supervising the two Customary Courts of Appeal, because they continue to be addressed as “Presidents” which is unlawful, given the provisions of Section 41 of the current Act.
