Characters Sora and shiro The main Characters The character design in No game No life is spot on, they created wonder pleasing characters, what i love about them is they held nothing back from creating overexaggerated creatures such as “elves and warbeast” that go well with the artstyle off of itself. The main characters are unique where you’d think that it’s all comedy and care free but they both have personal reason and ideals and that deeply love one another. But meanwhile every other character just seems Jibril a “Flügel”, Aged 6407 like comedy plot. Otakutype 4 All artwork and story belongs to Studio Madhouse and Yuu Kamiya respectively Art No game no life is every VERY colorful when it comes to their art, and very cartoon-ish either, but who says there is anything wrong with that? It has wonderful backgrounds creating added tension in every game they play and the colorful art style only creates contrast supporting it. Music The music in No game no life is nothing but amazing it`s opening gets you into the anime giving you a sign of wel- coming, the soundtrack holds nothing back as it support the plot to a T. They music captures the tense moments that make you want to cheer and stand up to the fantasy games that out of this world. Konomi Suzuki World wide hit This game release 7/25/14. No game no life opening Verdic No game no life a great Fantasy Anime that is very unique and should not be overlooked. It`s plot and comedy aspects excels this anime from all the rest, along with it’s colorful Artwork and music that would give you ear-gasms makes for a great anime in a package. My personal problem with this anime is that it is too short, with only 12 episodes this anime barely skims the surface of this world and has unlimited potential but is held back due the “read the manga for the end” type of ending. This gave a sour taste to the anime, as of June 1st 2015 no word of a season 2 has been announced. Otakutype 7 All artwork and story belongs to P.A works and Nagi no asukara Project 118 respectively * No spoiler review* Plot Nagi no asukara is a heartfelt anime in a fantasy setting world where long ago a human race lived in the sea floor with evolved abilities called ``ema`` that allows them to breath underwater and advanced swimming.However there was a conflict as some humans wanted to live in the surface creating a separation within the race. As children Hikari, Manaka, Chisaki and Kaname lived in the sea floor due to an unfortunate event their school was shut down and was forced to attend a `surfaced school` where they met Tsu- mugmi and that eventful day everything changed. Art Design Nagi no asukara was created by P.A work and my God , they did a great job. The Character design to the backgrounds were simply beautiful, everything flowed very well creating an amazing fancy world that looks majestic, that makes you almost want to live in that world. I felt the work and dedication that P.A works animation team poured in to this project and they without a doubt did not disap- point. Otakutype 8 Along with the beautiful art style the character design did Character not disappoint and fits well with the anime with self. The characters make realistic choices to ultimately support their own goal, what i love is that the charact don’t change their Design natural choices to force and create drama and conflict as a shady way make character development. They all have realistic personalities, like dislikes and reason why the love their significant loved ones, throughout the anime everyone develops in certain why, not just the main characters but everyone. MUSIC The Music in Nagi no asukara is without the doubt amazing , both the openings and ending we’re breath taking and gave you a reason to the watch/ hear them rather than skipping them. The openings gave you the mood and “feels” of the anime current conflicts.The OST (original soundtrack) fit the moods perfectly and added more effects to the scene. Verdic Nagi no asukara is a great anime in every aspect of the imagination, it’s fantasy and romance world hits home to many people, along with beautiful art and spot on soundtrack it hits the hearts of many Otakus worldwide. It`s story goes hand in hand with plot and with the touch of romance only supports it every way.     1 Between Frames: Japanese Cinema at the Digital Turn Laura Lee, Florida State University Abstract: This article explores how the appearance of composite media arrangements and the prominence of the cinematic mechanism in Japanese film are connected to a nostalgic preoccupation with the materiality of the filmic image, and to a new critical function for film-based cinema in the digital age. Many popular Japanese films from the early 2000s layer perceptually distinct media forms within the image. Manipulation of the interval between film frames—for example with stop-motion, slow-motion and time-lapse techniques—often overlays the insisted-upon interval between separate media forms at these sites of media layering. Exploiting cinema’s temporal interval in this way not only foregrounds the filmic mechanism, but it in effect stages the cinematic apparatus, displaying it at a medial remove as a spectacular site of difference. In other words, cinema itself becomes refracted through these hybrid media combinations, which paradoxically facilitate a renewed encounter with cinema by reawakening a sensuous attachment to it at the very instant that it appears to be under threat. This particular response to developments in digital technologies suggests how we might more generally conceive of cinema finding itself anew in the contemporary media landscape. The advent of digital media and the perceived danger it has implied for the status of cinema have resulted in an inevitable nostalgia for the unique properties of the latter. In many Japanese films at the digital turn this manifests itself as a staging of the cinematic apparatus, in 1 which cinema is refracted through composite media arrangements.

    Hip Hop in Relation to Minority Youth Culture in France Amanda Cottingham In 1991, the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang, invited three rap groups to perform at the prime minister’s garden party at the Matignon palace for members of the National Assembly 1. French rappers today are not all on such amicable terms with politicians but are widely popular among the younger generations, a fact that was noted when riots broke out in 2005. Many of these rappers embrace immigrant communities, bringing their issues to the forefront because several are of foreign descent themselves, particularly Arabic North Africans. While the government might want to preserve a traditional view of French culture, modern musicians are celebrating the cultural diversity immigrants bring to the nation. The rap genre has grown in popularity in France to such an extent that despite degenerating relationships with the government, rappers are able to show support for minority groups while maintaining a broad base of popular support from the youths. Unlike other popular forms of music that act simply as a form of entertainment, developments of rap in France show that it is closely linked to social issues facing minority youths. Hip hop is not, however, native to France but rather an imported style which originated in the United States, the South Bronx of New York in particular. In the early 1970s, a former gang member, Afrika Bambaataa organized a group called The Zulu Nation to draw disaffected youths away from gang fighting and instead towards music, dance, and graffiti in order to introduce them to the various elements of hip hop culture.
