10 York’s Finest • November 2016 November 2016 • York’s Finest 11 Regents’ Glen Country Club

This year marks the beginning of a new era for Regents’ Glen Coun- community spotlight try Club. In the spring of 2016, the club came under local ownership Photography by John Daniel Briggs. and direction by the Krebs family, Rod and Connie Krebs, Heather Written by John Daniel Briggs. and Jamie Hess, Holly and Matt Eyster.

The Krebs family is very involved in all aspects of the club, and their role goes well beyond ownership and direction as they regularly par- ticipate in club activities. As a part of their commitment to enhanc- ing the membership experience, they partnered with Billy Casper Signature, a private club management company, to establish a high level of quality and service. General Manager Steve Harrington is very optimistic when he talks about Regents’ Glen, stating, “We have so much to offer, and the future for the club is very bright.” Mr. Harrington describes the club environment by referring to a letter from the Krebs family: “It is our mission to take Regents’ Glen to its rightful potential by creating a lifestyle that creates memories for all of us. This entails a positive, friendly environment – with no preten- tiousness or intimidation – for members, residents and employees. Joining the club is like joining a family with a sense of belonging and fellowship. Residents telling people they live here, members bring- ing guests to play golf and dine, and employees loving what they do are outcomes we are quickly earning.”

Touring the grounds at Regents’ Glen and speaking with those involved leaves one with little doubt that it has great potential. The club offers fine and casual dining, golf, swimming, fitness facili- ties and event venues. The Regents’ Glen golf course was designed by Arthur Hills and is maintained under the direction of Kevin Shue, Golf Course Superintendent. A unique and valuable feature of the club is the eight-acre golf practice complex that includes a 9,000-square-feet putting green, a three-level bent grass tee, four target greens, a short-game area with bunkers and bent-grass fair- way. Matt Keller serves as the PGA Head Golf Professional. The Krebs family

The historic and elegant Box Hill Mansion and its surrounding landscaping is a featured part of the club, and is a beautiful setting for weddings and other activities. The club facilities are offered as an upscale venue for events such as charitable golf outings, private social functions and business gatherings. These activities are coor- dinated by Mary Ann Fisher, the Private Events Director, while the menu is the purview of Joe Castellano, Executive Chef, along with Andrea LaCesa, Director of Food and Beverage.

The long-term aspirations for Regents’ Glen Country Club are ex- plained by Rodney Krebs: “On behalf of my wife, Connie, our daugh- ters, Heather and Holly, and their families, we are excited to be a part Regents’ Glen golf course of something extraordinary here in York County, and we genuinely Meet Family – believe that the future of Regents Glen will live in perpetuity through The Krebs our grandchildren, their children and their grandchildren.” New Owners Of Regents' Glen Country Club Regents’ Glen Country Club is located at 1000 Golf Club Dr., York, PA 17403; telephone: (717) 747-1919.
