SANDAKAN , REVISION OF CONTROL ZONE (CTR) AND INTRODUCTION OF NEW PROCEDURES

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 The purpose of this AIP supplement is to notify the aviation industry on the introduction the revised Sandakan Control Zone, Standard Departures Instrument Routes (SID) and Standard Arrival routes (STAR).

2. AIRSPACE STRUCTURES

2.1 SANDAKAN CONTROL ZONE (CTR)

2.1.1 Sandakan Control Zone is revised in dimension and upper limits for the purpose of accommodating IFR flights in and out of Sandakan airport. The details of the CTR are as follows;

Designation and lateral limits A circle of 25NM radius centered from VSN DVOR/ DME (05 54 13.62 N 118 04 29.55 E )

Vertical limits GROUND / SEA - 7500 FT.

3.1 Six waypoint in WGS84 datum associated with the IFR procedures will be established. they are:

4. Holding Areas

4.1 Three Holding areas are established for regulating air traffic. Details of the holding areas are as follows:

5. STANDARD INSTRUMENT DEPARTURE ROUTES (SID)

5.1 Standard Instrument Departure (SIDS) for Runway 08 and Runway 26 are introduced to simplify and standardise departures which meets adequate terrain clearance.

c) TOMEN 1 ALPHA DEPARTURE

6.1 Standard Arrival Routes (STAR) are pre-planned IFR arrival routes, linking ATS Routes into Sandakan Airport

8. IMPLEMENTATION

8.1 This AIP Supplement will be effective by a trigger NOTAM notifying the effective date of implementation.

9. CANCELLATION

9.1 This AIP Supplement will remain current until the information is published in the AIP Malaysia.
