He is by Champion Sprinter and exceptional sire, Speightstown, out of a sister to Danehill, a 14 time Champion Sire who was a breed-shaping stallion on two continents, and is from the immediate family of Northern Dancer and Halo..." Redesdale has an exceptional stallion pedigree. His sire, Speightstown, has nearly 100 stakes winners to his name, 45 graded, and 14 grade one. Of his young sire sons, Munnings sired grade one winners I’m A Chatterbox and El Deal out in his first crop; Jersey Town has 2018 grade one winner Bee Jersey in his first crop; Poseidon’s Warrion has 2018 grade one winner Firenze Fire in his fist crop; and Central Banker is a top-five freshman sire in 2018. Andrew Caulfield, July 22, 2003 – Wando P EDIGREE INSIGHTS Langfuhr’s yearlings didn’t meet with much favour at last year’s sales, achieving a median of only $15,000, BY ANDREW CAULFIELD probably because his winners had largely been noted more for their quantity than their quality. However, he PRINCE OF WALES S., $500,000, FEX, 7-20, (R), 3yo, is clearly capable of coming up with a very good 1 3/16m, 1:55 4/5, my. performer, given the right mare. His first crop contained 1--WANDO, 126, c, 3, by Langfuhr that very good filly Imperial Gesture, who had the 1st Dam: Kathie's Colleen (GSW, $188,097), by Woodman distinction of reaching the first three in two Breeders’ 2nd Dam: Royal Colleen, by Viceregal Cup events, in addition to gaining Grade I victories in 3rd Dam: Own Colleen, by Queen’s Own the Beldame S. and Gazelle H. Appropriately, Wando and Mobil were bred by One new stallion guaranteed to attract a lot of Gustav Schickedanz, who also bred and owned attention at the upcoming yearling sales has to be War Langfuhr. Chant, and the prospects of this Breeders’ Cup Mile I find it interesting that Langfuhr’s three good winner can only be helped by the success currently winners are all very well suited by a reasonable test of being enjoyed by several of Danzig’s other stallion sons.

Last Saturday and Sunday turned out to be yet another of those Danzig weekends, with produce of Danzig-line stallions taking all three Group 1 contests in Australasia, plus the GI Gulfstream Park Breeders' Cup Turf S. In fact, the early weeks of 2007 have been pretty kind to the family, with Danzig, Brahms, Exchange Rate, Honor Grades, Langfuhr and Lost Soldier all represented by American graded winners. These graded winners divide evenly between dirt and turf, which underlines the versatility of a male line which is predicted to enjoy even more success as synthetic surfaces proliferate. Langfuhr was an exception to the widely held theory that Danzig's offspring were more at home on turf. The Canadian-bred failed to win in five attempts on grass, whereas he was successful in half of his 18 starts on the main track. Thus, it is hardly surprising that as much as 77 percent of Langfuhr's progeny earnings to the end of last year had been earned on dirt.
