Director John Sutter,Ward 2 Facts about the East Bay Regional Park District (Oakland) Director About us: Founded in 1934, the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) is the largest Carol Severin, Ward 3 local park agency in the United States, with 65 parks on over 114,000 acres and 1,200 (Castro Valley) miles of trails in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Fees and charges for services account for 12.9% of District revenue; 2.2% is from investment earnings and property use. Measure WW, the $500 million bond extension approved by voters in 2008, will fund Regional Park acquisitions and capital projects. Additionally, 25% of bond proceeds will be awarded to cities, special park and recreation districts, and county service areas for local park and recreation projects. The District’s budgets and Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports are on the District’s East Bay website and they consistently receive annual awards for excellence from the Government Regional Park District Finance Offcers Association of the U.S. and Canada.
