Resultat. Rallycross-VM, Lydden Hill, England, 23-24 maj. Quinton Motor Club Ltd Forewo rd This publication is the result of over two years of investigative research and subsequent communication with many past members of Quinton Motor Club. No formal record of the Club ’s history or its activities existed before this task was under taken. I would particularly like to acknowledge the involvement of the following: Mike & Hilary Stratton , who were the driving force behind the w hole project and have spent countless hours in research and communication with past members , far and wide, a s well as many long journeys from their home in Devon to meet with the rest of us in the Midlands. The other members of the organising committee for the fiftieth anniversary celebrations for their hospitality at meetings, contribution of ideas, research fo r memorabilia , general good humour and enthusiasm that this milestone should be fittingly celebrated (in alphabetical order): Ray Barlow, Susan Butcher, Mike Harris, Nick Jones & Graham Towns hend. This publication has only been made possible by people tur ning out cupboards, garages and lofts to unearth long forgotten gems regarding the Club and its history. Foremost in this is Mike Adams, who has been the major source of information in that he has not thrown ANYTHING away sinc e he joined the Club in the mi d -1970s. Three big cardboard boxes arrived at my house one day in the early Spring of 2008, Ginny was not hap py when they were returned just over a year later, she thought she had seen the last of them..!! Others, not on the organising committee, that h ave unearthed memorabilia are (in alphabetical order): Peter Bayliss, John Davi s, Steve Eagle, Peter Gray , Neil Henderson and finally Dave Bullock who attended the first meeting of the Club and whose recollections of the early years has enabled me to piece together the scant infor mation that still exists from fifty years ago..!! We all hope you enjoy this publication and that its contents makes you smile and brings back happy memories of your time in Quinton Motor Club .

We’ll also be using the short stage in Broughton Moor forest, giving you 41 classic stage miles over 5 stages and just 44 road miles. We’ve retained the excellent facilities at Skelwith Fold for service and we have a new trailer park and scrutineering venue nearby in Ambleside. In recent years, we've limiting entries to 80. • Jardine and Noble Celebrate Podium Finish in Scotland
For Immediate Release 09 October 2011 Jardine and Noble celebrate podium finish in Scotland The Sky Bet / ProSpeed team of Tony Jardine and Gordon Noble faced technical difficulties and a puncture during day one of the RACMSA Rally of Scotland, but were able to make up places on Sunday, despite a damaged front suspension, to finish third in class and 21st overall. Being the penultimate round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), there were thrills and spills from start to finish among the field of world-class crews as they pushed hard to overcome the punishing stage conditions to claim valuable championship points. However, Norwegian driver Andreas Mikkelsen dominated the event with five stage victories to win with a 26.4 second lead over Finland’s Juho Hanninen. Bryan Bouffier from France was third. For the Sky Bet team, it was rewarding to bring their Kumho-shod Ford Fiesta R2 home to a podium finish in Perth, after 14 stages totalling 184 kilometres. Driver Jardine commented, “The stages in Scotland are tough, so I’m pleased to have finished the rally in one piece and with a podium in our class. We’ve had lots of dramas today as the left front suspension was in danger of collapsing. It has been a case of nursing the car through arguably four of the fastest stages of the event, plus we have been struggling with some intercom problems. Probably on High Corrie 2 is where I have personally been at my best and Gordon has been absolutely brilliant, he really got into it.

FASTEST STAGE TIMES (EVENT) 12. NEXT ROUND 1. EVENT SUMMARY Flodin takes GB win as Aigner becomes P-WRC Champion Swedish driver Patrik Flodin and co-driver Göran Bergsten (Subaru) scored the first P-WRC victory of their career on the eighth and final round of the 2008 FIA Production Car World Rally Championship, Wales Rally GB, after a tough battle with fellow Swede Patrik Sandell in his Peugeot 207 S2000. But a twist on the final stage saw Sandell stop with engine woes and second was adopted by a perfectly poised Andreas Aigner (Mitsubishi) whose finish was enough to clinch his debut P-WRC title, the first Austrian to win since Manfred Stohl in 2000. Aigner’s second place saw him eventually finish two points ahead of title rival Juho Hänninen (FIN, Mitsubishi) as the Finn, who retired on day one, was forced to watch from the sidelines. One of the most dominating things about this rally was the high rate of attrition as a result of the challenging wintery conditions. By the end of day one alone, seven P-WRC crews had retired and by the end of day two, a further seven crews had been sidelined. Mark Higgins (GB, Subaru) set the pace by winning the first stage of the rally and put himself into the lead ahead of fellow Brit and British Rally Championship (BRC) rival Guy Wilks (Mitsubishi).

  • The Australasian Society for Motorsports Medicine and Rescue
Volume 2, Issue 7 December 2010 The Australasian Society for Motorsports Medicine and Rescue Contents Race control Motorsport review Recent race results Caught by the cameras Race control So another year of motor sporting draws to a close. The major categories have completed their seasons with some of the closest racing seen in the final events. Perhaps the persistent fiddling with the rules and rewards systems is paying off. The F1 had everyone madly working out the various permutations by which their favoured driver could finish on the top step, right up until the last lap in Bahrain. Loeb took his seventh World Rally championship title in his home town of Hagenot, in France, with two events left on the calendar. However, the WRC still ended on a nail-biter with the rising Sebastian Ogier challenging a much more consistent Jari-Matti Latvalla and an impressively resurgent Petter Solberg for second place. With a very satisfying end to the season, we also bid farewell to the current class of WRC cars, which will be replaced with shorter wheel base, 1600cc turbo engined car in 2011. Citroen will run a DS3, BP Ford a Fiesta RS and Mini will provide a third manufacturer in selected events with its Countryman model. The V8s finished their season in Sydney at the Homebush Bay circuit and was again replete with carnage and position changes, right up until the final lap, where Shane Van Gisbergen ran out of fuel while running in first place, yet managed to coast across the finish line in in third.
