We furthered our plans for our annual Fashion Show and Luncheon to be held Saturday, Nov. 19th, doors opening at 11, for a lovely presentation of clothing from Ernst Licht Fashions and Chicos, plus a fabulous array of Chinese Auction bas- kets as well as many door prizes. SPECIAL GERMAN MOVIE EVENT We invite anyone with an interest in the German language and culture to join us for a movie showing! When: Saturday, October 15th, 2016 Time: 3 pm Place: St. John’s Evangelical-Lutheran Church Address: 521 Walnut St. Reading, PA 19601

This will be the first in what is hopefully an exciting and educational series of German language movies. The first movie is set in the year 1954, following the story of a German soccer team, who triumphed in the soccer finals. At the same time, the movie focuses on a boy and his family, who were separated because of circumstances surrounding World War II.

The movie will be in German with English subtitles. There will be refreshments and food during the film, including popcorn, soda, and more. Following the movie, there will also be a fun and interest- ing discussion of the film in both German and English. We look forward to seeing you at this event! DEUTSCHES GEMÜTLICHKEIT ABEND WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12 5:30PM

This month please join the Deutscher Gemuetlichkeit Abend group. Harold Buchtmann will be briefly speaking about Silesia. Afterward, group mem- bers are encouraged to share a short overview of a famous person from Silesia's history.
