We are seeking to appoint an experienced, inclusive and enthusiastic teacher to cover maternity leave, on a fixed term contract for up to one year, or until the return of the post-holder, whichever is soonest. The role will include coordinating the daily curriculum for students with ASC, teaching SEN groups within the centre and offering outreach support to staff. Potential candidates may come from a variety of educational backgrounds, specialist or mainstream, but will need to have experience of teaching students with special education needs, preferably with ASC experience. The centre currently provides placements for eight secondary aged students. All students accessing the centre will be in receipt of an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and require individualised provision monitored by the Local Authority. Students can integrate into Bridgwater College Academy, but time will vary according to individual need, with some students needing to spend a large proportion/all of their education within the ASC resource centre.
