Location Maunby is a small village with a charming green, at the end of a cul‐de‐sac, on the bank of The River Swale. Situated in the Vale of Mowbray, the village is close to the North York Moors National Park (11 miles) and the Nidderdale Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty (15 miles), and is surrounded by traditional farmland.

The market towns of Thirsk and Northalleton are about 6 miles away and offer excellent local facilities including schools, supermarkets and railway stations. There are racecourses at Thirsk and Ripon (13 miles). South Otterington (1.7 miles) has a primary school and nursery. York (30 miles) is a wonderful city renown for its Minster, and Harogate (25 miles) offers a great place to shop and is home to the annual Flower Show.

Maunby is convenient for the motorway network, both The A1(M) and A19 are about 9 miles away. train station is on the East Coast Main Line with services to London and Edinburgh (c.2 1/2 hours) and Thisk has regular direct services to London too.
