Callaway Transportation, Inc is the official tour operator for the 2015 National Convention of The American Legion. Should you wish to take advantage of any tours, please keep in mind you are responsible for registering and paying for any and all charges associated with each tour.

An onsite registration desk will also be available during the National Convention.

Daily self-guided departures to many local museums and landmarks

Program 1 – Tour of Museums (Transport charge of $10/per person per day) Buses depart every hour on the hour from the Charles Street lobby of the Baltimore Convention Center to local museums.  The $10/per person charge is for the cost of transport only.  Attendees will have to pay for admission at each museum that has an entry fee.  Buses can be re-boarded at any museum stop to ride to the next museum and back to the convention center.  Bus ticket purchase good for one day only. Ticket valid for transport on any museum route. You may ride same day any museum route for no additional charge.

Program 3 – Guided Tour of Baltimore Baltimore Charm City Tour

Enjoy the sights of Baltimore while in the comforts of a luxury air conditioned motor coach. Your guide will point out many of the historic sites of Baltimore including Ft. McHenry, Little Italy, Fells Point, the Inner Harbor, Washington Monument and Historic Charles Street. Guests will have opportunities to walk around at several of the sites during this 3 hour guided tour of Baltimore.

Mission: The mission of the Maryland Museum of Military History is to collect, preserve, interpret, and present significant artifacts and artwork relating to the history of the Maryland’s soldiers and airmen, and of the people, places, and events that represent the military heritage of the State of Maryland. Through exhibits, educational programs, and public outreach, the Museum strives to convey an awareness of the military service of Marylanders, and how that service has helped preserve American freedoms and advance democratic principles. History: In 1973, with the permission of Major General Edwin Warfield III, the Adjutant General of Maryland, a group of dedicated Guardsmen, headed by Colonel Edmund G. Beacham, formed the Maryland National Guard Memorial Library Committee. The committee’s purpose was to keep alive the deeds, memories, and memorabilia of the Maryland National Guard so that future generations would have available to them the history of the Maryland Guard and the people who created it.

Star-Spangled Banner Flag House & 1812 Museum 844 East Pratt St., Baltimore, MD 21202 - 4403 (410) 837-1793 e-mail: [email protected] web: www.flaghouse.org A National Landmark Built in 1793, the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House was the home and place of business of Mary Pickersgill, maker of the flag that inspired Francis Scott Key’s famous poem that later became our national anthem. Mary and her daughter Caroline moved into the house in 1806, along with Mary’s mother, Rebecca Young, who began the flag-making business in during the Revolutionary War. In 1927, the house was sold to the city of Baltimore and the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House Association established a museum inside the historic home. Today, visitors encounter the interior of the Flag House much as Mary and her household would have seen it. The house is filled with original early 19th century objects, many of them possessions of the Young-Pickersgill family. Throughout their tour, visitors explore aspects of business and daily life in the Flag House by interacting with a variety sites and sounds from 1812. The Flag House also offers special programs throughout the year where visitors can learn about the past through a variety of interactive activities.
