WHAT WE DO: DCA is focusing on The Triple Nexus in South Sudan through the following activities: Food Security and livelihoods: Working together with local partners we respond to food security and livelihoods needs of South Sudanese communities through market and cash-based programming.

Saving lives through humanitarian response: Responding to the humanitarian needs of disaster-affected households, we support local structures to develop preparedness plans to ensure a timely and appropriate response to the needs of communities, including internally displaced people and returnees.

Peace and conflict mitigation: Working by supporting implementing partners working with community structures (peace building committees) and local governments to prevent and mitigate conflict through peace building activities in conflict- prone communities. Eastern Equatoria: Peace building activities, livelihoods activities, VSLAs, seeds and tools for farmer groups and vegetable growers, provision of chicken to poultry groups, and support to bee-keeping farmers, livestock restocking and treatment. Juba Eastern Central Equatoria Equatoria Unity: Implementing basic primary education programme to refugees and host community. Constructing school facilities, supporting girls at these schools and providing teachers incentives among others. DR CONGO

UGANDA Across all DCA locations in South Sudan: Emergency response mechanism (ERM) to allow for timely and effective cash- based emergency response to sudden-onset crises.
