84 Tamil Nadu red sander woodcutters released in Andhra Pradesh

 Eighty four suspected red sander woodcutters from Tamil Nadu, who were arrested in Tirupati by Andhra Pradesh Police for allegedly entering into Seshachalam forests, were released by the Task Force offcials on march 3.The PIL had requested the court to take an appropriate action against “erring officials” of that State.

State’s NPAs in housing loans higher than national average

 Tamil Nadu, which accounts for 10% of the country‟s housing finance market, has more non-performing assets (NPAs) than the national average, according to data from Crif High Mark Credit Information Services, a credit bureau . T.N. had 1.6 lakh crore-worth of housing loans as of Dec. 2017 .

Cooperative bank email hacked, 22.15 lakh diverted

 A person managed to hack into the official email of a cooperative bank in Hoskote and diverted ₹22.15 lakh by altering the recipient bank account details.  The CID officials have summoned the bank staff for questioning and are also tracking down the details of the bank account to which the money was transferred.

Race to save 3,000-year-old treasures in A.P. village

 The State Archaeology department has dug up artefacts from burial sites here dating back to 1000 B.C. and the megalithic era . The Commissioner, Department of Archaeology and Museums, G. Vani Mohan, said the objects would be sent to the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology to determine their antiquity through carbon dating. Closer study would yield insights into the lifestyle of the megalithic period, she said.

Pilot project in 5 districts to check manual scavenging

 National Commission for Safai Karmacharis (NCSK) member Jagadeesh Hiremani on Saturday said five districts in the State were selected for a survey of prevalence of manual scavenging and rehabilitation measures.
