The Member for Constituency (Hon. Qalicha Wario, MP) presented a Petition on behalf of residents of regarding perennial power outages since January 2018 due to dependence on power from Ethiopia.

Petition referred to the relevant Committee pursuant to Standing Order 227(1).

NOTICES OF MOTION The following Notice of Motion was given to the House – THAT, this House adopts the Report of the Select Committee on Implementation on the Petition by Kenafric Industries Limited on the implementation of the recommendation paragraph 108 contained in the Report of the Departmental Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Cooperatives on the Crisis Facing the Sugar Industry in Kenya as adopted by the House on 24th February, 2016, laid on the Table of the House on Thursday, 4th October 2018. Question dropped.

(iii) Question No. 032/2018 by the Member for Ikolomani (Hon. Benard Shinali) regarding distribution of 10,000 teachers by the Teachers’ Service Commission.

Question dropped.

(iv) Question No.033/2018 by the Member for Ikolomani (Hon. Benard Shinali) regarding the status of Litambiza bridge in Ikolomoani.

THAT, this House notes the report of the Sixth Ordinary Session of the Fourth Pan- African Parliament, held in Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand, South Africa on 7th to 18th May, 2018, laid on the Table of the House on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.

Rising in her place on a Point of Order pursuant to Standing Order 53(3), the Member for Gilgil Constituency (Hon. Martha Wangari, M.P.) requested the Speaker to defer the putting of the Question to another day;

And the Speaker acceding to the request, thereupon deferred the putting of the Question to Thursday, October 11, 2018.

11. MOTION - REPORT ON AN INQUIRY INTO COMPLAINTS OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION BY LONDON DISTILLERS KENYA LIMITED

Motion made and Question proposed –

THAT, this House adopts the Report of the Departmental Committee on Environment & Natural Resources on an inquiry into complaints of environmental pollution by London Distillers Kenya Limited, laid on the Table of the House on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, subject to deletion of the words “tabling” appearing in recommendation 1, paragraph (i); recommendation 2, paragraphs (i) and (vi) and recommendation 6, paragraph (i) and (ii) and substituting therefor with the words “adoption by the House.”
