Gayle Lovett ABN 30 925 379 292 THIS CATALOGUE features first editions of mysteries set in the United Kingdom roughly prior to World War II. Most books are from my own collection. I have listed any faults. A very common fault is browning of the paper used by one major publisher, which seems inevitable with most of their titles. Otherwise, unless stated, I would class most of the books as near fine in near fine dustcover and are first printings and not price-clipped. Michael Connelly the Gods of Guilt Michael Connelly the Gods of Guilt
MICHAEL CONNELLY THE GODS OF GUILT READ BY PETER GILES IN THE RIVETING NEW COURTROOM THRILLER FROM #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR MICHAEL CONNELLY, LINCOLN LAWYER MICKEY HALLER DEFENDS A MURDER CASE IN WHICH THE VICTIM WAS HIS FORMER CLIENT. IS MICKEY TO BLAME? Mickey Haller gets the text “Call me ASAP––187,” and the California penal code for murder immediately gets his attention. Murder cases have the highest stakes and the biggest paydays, and they always mean Haller has to be at the top of his game. When Mickey discovers that the victim was a prostitute he once represented and thought he MICHAEL had rescued, he knows there is no way he’ll let this one go. The case is suddenly about more than the guilt or innocence of the defendant––it’s about finding out what happened to a woman he cared for, a woman who he learns was back in L.A. and back in the life. Far from saving her, Mickey might have been the one who put her in danger. Mickey must follow his gut instinct directly into a dangerous world of intrigue and double-dealing to get justice for both of his clients, living and dead. As he faces the “gods of guilt”––the jurors who will deliver the ultimate verdict––he’s forced to struggle with his personal demons for a shot CONNELLY at his own redemption. The Gods of Guilt shows once again why “Michael Connelly excels, easily surpassing even John Grisham in the building of courtroom suspense” (Los Angeles Times). -

MICHAEL CONNELLY IS KNOWN for HIS ‘BOSCH’ BOOKS, but HE Los Angeles’ STARTED AS a REPORTER Dark Tales by LISA RICHWINE
2018 DISTINGUISHED STORYTELLER AWARD DISTINGUISHED STORYTELLER AWARD RECIPIENT Telling MICHAEL CONNELLY IS KNOWN FOR HIS ‘BOSCH’ BOOKS, BUT HE Los Angeles’ STARTED AS A REPORTER BY LISA RICHWINE Dark Tales ICHAEL CONNELLY has brought Los Angeles to life like no other writer. The best-selling author of 32 Mdetective and crime novels is known around the world for his stories featuring Harry Bosch, the persistent Los Angeles Police Department detec- tive who investigates the city’s most perplexing murder cases. Connelly’s books have sold more than 74 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 40 languages. They are the basis for the Amazon Prime Video series “Bosch.” The Los Angeles Press Club tonight is pre- senting Connelly with its Distinguished Story- teller Award, an honor bestowed for excellence in story telling outside of journalism. Connelly’s work, however, is rooted in jour- nalism. His gripping narratives are informed by his early career as a reporter, and they feature the type of vivid details that journalists strive to include in their writing. “My success as a guy ‘who makes it up’ came after a career as a journalist who covered law enforcement and crime for newspapers on both coasts,” Connelly says on his website. “No matter what success I achieve as a storyteller I have always and will always feel I am still a jour- nalist at heart—I put the truth in my novels and I research them like a reporter on a story.” From “Angels Flight” to “Echo Park,” Connelly makes Los Angeles a central character and takes readers into the unsung corners of the sprawling metropolis.
