Support WA music industry talent at free 2021 Cockburn Central community concert

It may well be in the past, but 2020 was a year like no other, so the City of Cockburn is showcasing uber talented WA musicians and performers at its free 2021 Cockburn Central community concert on 6 February.

Teamed with the expert MCing talents of WA TV and radio presenter Jessie James, popular WA artists Adrian Dzvuke, Carla Geneve, COTERIE and Matt Gresham will entertain 7-10pm.

Both Dzvuke and Geneve were recognised for their song-writing skills at the WA Music 2020 Song of the Year awards – Albany-born Geneve took out the grand prize with her song 2001 while Dzvuke was second grand prize runner-up with his Urban/Hip Hop song Bad Like Ri Ri (feat. POW! Negro).

Geneve’s song also took out the 2020 award’s rock category and her song Things Change won the folk category.

Perth indie pop darlings COTERIE are four brothers – Tyler (lead vocals, guitar), Joshua (piano, synths) Brandford (bass) and Conrad Fisher (lead guitar) – who impressed with their debut single Where We Began followed by Salvation and Say Goodbye.

The siblings grew up listening to their parents R&B mix tapes but also shared a love of Jimi Hendrix. Their sound is reminiscent of Matt Corby and Gang of Youths.

And Gresham hardly needs introduction! The life-long, WA-raised musician and performer is also a past winner of the blues and roots category at the WA Music Awards, with his song Whiskey in 2014.

He also won first place in the 2017 International Songwriting Competition’s unpublished category with Survive On Love, and competed in X Factor and The Voice (Australia).
