Today’s production of Waiting for Godot, directed by the phenomenal Garry Hynes, continues our tradition of inviting leading artists from across the globe to make Chicago their stage. Over the years, Chicago Shakespeare’s WorldStage series has featured thousands of theater-makers from all corners of the world—Australia, Belarus, China, India, Mexico, South Africa, the UK, and beyond. As a result of this prolific program, Chicago audiences have experienced striking interpretations of Shakespeare’s plays in myriad languages and work beyond the canon that pushes the boundaries of theatrical interpretation.
