JAVIER BAEZ (2-for-3, HR, R, 3 RBI) hit a go-ahead three-run shot in the second inning, his first postseason homer … was just his third-career game with at least three RBI (regular season and postseason) … went 4-for-5 in his two Division Series games.

KYLE SCHWARBER (2-for-3, HR, 2 R, RBI) crushed his third homer of the postseason in the seventh inning, a solo shot to right field … has hit safely in all four of his postseason starts, going 7-for-12 with four runs scored and five RBI.

ANTHONY RIZZO (2-for-4, HR, R, RBI) homered for the second-consecutive day off Kevin Siegrist … collected his first postseason multi-hit game … according to ESPN Stats & Info, he became the first player in Cubs postseason history to a go-ahead homer in the sixth inning or later of a potential series-clinching game.

JASON HAMMEL made his first postseason start since Game Five of the 2012 Division Series at the Yankees with Baltimore … has gone 0-1 with a 5.00 ERA (10 ER/18.0 IP) in five career postseason outings … registered his first postseason hit, RBI and run scored in the second inning … was his second career postseason plate appearance.

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS

STEPHEN PISCOTTY (1-for-4, HR, R, 2 RBI, BB) hit a two-run homer in the first inning, his third homer of the postseason, all two-run shots … the three homers tie a rookie franchise record, set by Willie McGee in 1982 and Kolten Wong last season … they are the most by a Cardinals rookie in a Division Series.  His six RBI are the most by a Cardinals rookie in a Division Series, surpassing Pete Kozma’s five RBI in the 2012 NLDS vs. Washington.

JASON HEYWARD (1-for-2, 2 BB, R) reached base three times … had drawn just one walk in his first 12 career postseason games prior to walking twice today.

JOHN LACKEY pitched just 3.0 innings, his shortest career postseason starts (20 starts) … snapped a streak of 12-straight postseason appearances (73.0 IP) in which he had not allowed a … had not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his previous seven starts against the Cubs (regular season and postseason).  Recorded his second career postseason hit in the second inning … previous hit came with the Angels in Game Four of the 2002 World Series.
