Another good entry of mainly younger store cattle from vendors across the County and beyond met with relentless competition from a large number of buyers buoyed by the finished cattle prices and needing to turn out on grass. Topping the day were eight Charolais steers 20mo for Messrs. J. & S. Trembath of Zennor making £1,360 and £1,295. A nice run of 30+ from Messrs. J.S. & A.M. Nicholls of Newbridge sold to a top call of £1,080 for 17mo Hereford x steers. Native steers included Aberdeen Angus yearlings from Mr. J.W.W. Smeeth of Week St. Mary to £830. A cracking entry of 14 young cattle for Trevedra Farm Partnership of Sennen saw their best bunch of 4 Limousin/British Blue x steers 10-12mo hit £1,000 with same age heifers £800 plus a 15mo Blue x heifer £875. British Blue crosses again this week for Messrs. M.S. Manuell & Son of St. Stephen saw their trios of steers to £1,190 and heifers also top at £1,180.
